Manning’s Bakery

The staff is friendly and their treats are delicious! I have been there twice in the last week and wonder how many times I’ll stop by before I leave on Saturday!

It’s a tribute to the hard work the staff at Manning’s Bakery in The Square have done to keep foot traffic buzzing by, despite their lonely ground floor position. But then again, when held away from the messy tangle of food court offerings, this little coffee n’ cake shop has a chance to shine.
Offering a lovely selection of fairy cakes, scones buns and cream cakes (with the red stripe down the middle!) along to-​order birthday cakes and a solid sandwich menu, Manning’s is a saner stop off for tired shopping feet.
The deals are quite good -€ 3.60 for cake and coffee, about € 6ish if you make it a meal and throw a sandwich in. To sate your sweet tooth in bulk There’s no reserved seating, so expect to search for a spot sit after getting your order.

This little treasure is a shop that will stick out because its got lots of delicious things on display or it will remain hidden to you because its tucked away behind a stairs and is not in the middle of the shopping centre.
All i can say though is yum! who does not love cake? and oh do they do cake in here! this is what they specialise in so you know it has to be good. Its like i always say if a shop concentrates on stocking or producing one particular product it only makes sense that they do it well and they probably do i well than another shop that does lots of stuff. Mannings follow this rule exactly, there cakes are so very tasty!
I am kind of wondering right now, are they doing badly in business this month, i mean surely people could attribute some of that extra weight they are carrying to their addiction to mannings cakes! and perhaps those people give up this addiction in January… Don’t worry Mannings, everyone will be back soon, we cant stay away for that long!

It’s my experience that most cakes don’t taste as good as they look, and that consistency in quality cake production is a rare achievement. Manning’s, however, have certainly mastered their craft over the years, and consistently sell great cakes that look good and, more importantly, taste good.
This particular Manning’s sells sandwiches made to order, breads and a variety of cakes. The do the traditional range of cream cakes (I have to put a word in here for their custard slice — creamy, sticky and probably very bad for you, but certainly very delicious). They also sell large cakes for birthdays, parties or even weddings and can personalise them for you.
A great bakery which always stands out!
