I believe that newcomer Darcy’s is now the best restaurant in Tralee and perhaps one of the better ones in Ireland. I had a daily special of filet of beef with foie gras and my wife had the black sole on the menu. The filet was real first class meat(Helena, one of the owners, is a butcher and the meat is local Irish beef) cooked rare as I had asked. No pun intended, but it is rare to get such good meat cooked rare in Ireland. And the foie gras and glazed onion crisp were a perfect match with the meat. The black sole was also local and was cooked perfectly with some prawns and crab claws added as «extras». The crêpe with butterscotch sauce was terrific as was the chocolate fondant(like a crispy brownie with a soft center) that my wife had. It was great experience.

Tried this restraurant last Sunday for the first time and loved it so much we booked it again for Friday night, the last night of our week in Tralee As a group of four we tried quite a few things over the two nights and enjoyed everything I enjoyed the crab claws on both nights and a very generous portion it was(12 claws) also the lamb racks served both on the«rocks» and normally were terrific we will definitely be back next time we are in Tralee!
