The Pikeman Bar

was shopping in Tralee and decided to call in for a bit of grub. had heard about the food before and all comments were good so i thought why not. Guinness was good so great start. they have a large menu for lunch, you know the one, the menu that you need to mull over because there are too many option and you find yourself wishing someone could narrow it down for you. i went for the Lasagne in the end. was just what i wanted. came out hot and with a full plate of chips and a side salad. was amazing value for the 10.90 it cost on the specials. my friend went with the chicken. black pudding stuffing looked so good i tried it myself. was delicious. there was so much on the plates that we didn’t have any room left for dessert. thanks very much

Die Chicken Fingers sind wirklich gut! Tolle Atmosphäre, netter Service, gutes Essen und die Preise sind auch ok.

Great bar, cozy and relaxed, good food

Wie im August 2010 so waren wir auch in diesem Jahr (August 2011) wieder zu Gast in der Bar The Pikeman in Tralee, die zum Grand Hotel gehört. Das Hotel selbst ist genauso zu empfehlen, wie die Bar bzw. das Restaurant, denn die Bezeichnung Bar ist ziemlich untertrieben.
Das Essen ist sehr gut, wir hatten meist verschiedene Steaks, hervorragend zubereitet und gewürzt, mit Chips (Pommes frites) oder Salzkartoffeln und Gemüse. Der Service an der Bar Katie ist vom Fach, freundlich, aufmerksam und schnell. Das Lokal war immer sehr gut besucht, meist zur Essenszeit am Abend schon gab es kaum noch freie Plätze. An manchen Tagen ist Live-​Musik.
Wer in der Gegend weilt (Kerry County) sollte unbedingt einen Besuch machen.
Reservierung am Abend empfehlenswert.
