Brogan’s Guesthouse & Bar

Had a fantastic session here last night, before the Haymaking Festival in Trim.
The atmosphere of this rather large pub and guest house is warm and spacious. There are plenty of places to sit and have a jar. If the front room is too busy and noisy, make your way back to the lounge.
The whiskey was reasonably price. Two double Jameson ran about 13 euros, which isn’t bad.
The recent rules and changes have had a lousy impact on rural Ireland, but at least here on a good night at Brogan’s you get a taste of what it was once. The session here was fierce craic. Everyone had a turn, as the circle grew wider through the night. From songs, stories, poems, and bits of humour — it all was there.
Strangers truly were friends I hadn’t met yet here. One of the finest nights I’ve had all year!

Wer es etwas gemütlicher und gediegener haben will in Trim als von Ahart beschrieben, der kann eine Übernachtung im Brogan’s planen. Ein kleines und feines Hotel auf der High Street zu dem noch ein kleiner Pub und das schickere Restaurant The Beacon, in dem auch morgens das leckere irische Frühstück serviert wird.
Vom Brogan’s aus kann man wunderbar den kleinen idyllischen Ort erkunden, der in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß durchquert ist.
