This was one of my favorite hotels during my time in Ireland. Clean and charming with a great top floor patio directly facing the Castle. The restaurant was also nice, with traditional Irish fare done very well.

This hotel was amazing. We availed of a Sunday night winter offer — € 65 for two people with breakfast and the night was flawless. Our room was massive, private balcony and balcony furniture, bath, couch and seats. The restaurant was closed on the Sunday night so we had dinner in the Bailey Bar. First of all, they really accommodated my picky eating habits. Secondly, there was excellent value for money and finally food was great !! We also enjoyed our breakfast and coffee in the coffee shop. Hotel guests also get 10% discount in the Kilkenny Shop. Other reviews mentioned having to pay for parking, it was only € 3 so considering how cheap everything else was, I didn’t mind. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Plus the hotel is right across from Trim Castle. Trim town was very pleasant with loads to do. To sum up, this hotel visit was the best and cheapest I’d ever had in Ireland. Trim Castle Hotel — you will see me again

I visit this hotel regularly, mostly for the Barista café within. It’s probably the best place to go in Trim for a coffee. They open til about 5pm daily and serve breakfast, a good selection of lunch options, salads & desserts. The coffee they serve is Robert Roberts. I find their coffee to be quite weak, so if you typically like your coffee strong, like I do, try a double macchiato, rather than a cappuccino! Their cakes can be hit or miss. They do lovely walnut & cherry scones. Staff are super friendly. There’s loads of seating in the café itself & it’s always pretty busy. The hotel also has a carvery area at the front, a separate restaurant(Jules Restaurant) & bar. I think there is a further restaurant on the first floor. The hotel also has a reasonably sized Kilkenny Design store within(across from the café entrance) that sells accessories, jewellery & home wares. The hotel has a fabulous(if not mildly sacrilegious) location, being constructed literally metres from the magnificent Trim Castle. If I were coming to stay in Trim as a tourist, this is probably where I’d choose to stay as it’s right in the centre of the town!

I had a great time in this hotel, it’s very well located, just facing the Trim Castle, and if you’re lucky, you can have a espetacular view from the castle. Food was decent, actually very good, they have a bar, restaurant and a café. The only thing I didn’t like is the parking for my car, I had to pay for it, it’s usually free in most of the hotels.

Not bad food, but some of the most inept service I have ever had in my life. I write this with the check and a 50 euro note one the table – no one can even manage to come by and pick up the money! Details: We were referred here because of the nice views of the castle from the windows – which is true. Trim Castle is an impressive ruin, and the hotel restaurant/bar has big windows looking out. And the hotel itself looks quite lovely. We enjoyed our food – not spectacular but good. And as an American, the best mushy peas I have ever had. But each and every waitperson appears to be incompetent or untrained, one or the other. They were all fairly nice and sweet, but couldn’t seem to get it together. Around us, food was repeatedly brought to the wrong table, drinks offered twice, and there were fidgety, waiting customers everywhere. I did speak with the manager, and she was apologetic. If they get this all put together, it will be a fine place for a nice dinner – and I have some faith that they will do so. But we did NOT have a good experience.

Ist ok, obgleich es viel schönere Ruinen in Irland gibt. Ich würde hier allerdings nicht extra noch einmal hinfahren.

This hotel had a decent restaurant for a very good price(€ 25 for 5 courses). The food is average but the service was great. Get a table by the window and you will have an amazing view.
