Rip off City USA. Toasted sambo, kids nuggets and chips, two piece of cake and a juice box and I received little change from € 40! Not impressed at all, it’s a glorified canteen! Won’t be back anytime soon!

As you enter the door you are greeted by a magnificent display of Christmas decorations and clothing, books, linen, kitchen ware and much more. But this place does not resemble a retail store such as Dunnes or Debenhams in any way and is so inviting looking. There is a falconry centre here and if you want to see lots of kestrels, owls and other birds of prey up close then this is the place you want to visit. I didn’t get to see the birds on this visit as the kids were going on the Santa train but this is a delightful place to visit. There is also a chocolate factory next door although I didn’t get a chance to go in.

a friend and i got a voucher to go on a two hour falconry into /hawk walk here. it was about an hour and a half drive from dublin the falconry was out the back of a large garden center that also had shops and a restaurant(kinda like avoca). the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. we were introduced to about a dozen different breeds of owls, falcons and one hawk. there history and country of origins explained and any questions we had were answered. we all got a turn of holding and petting the owls and we could take as many photos as we wanted. the whole thing was hands on, the only two birds we didnt get close to was the vulcher and the hawk but i was quite happy not to get too close to them! we then went on a walk around the surrounding countryside with martha the falcon. we all got plenty of chances to call her to land on our hands and send her off flying again. over all it took just over two hours and was a fantastic experience.
