Popped in here while looking for Avondale House, and having being in here a few times before we knew it was a nice place. I had stopped in here before with a group of 10 other photographers and the food was great along with the service — even if we all wanted to pay individually. So while sitting here with my mother, who paid, on a Sunday we started to discuss how nice and spacious the pub was. Then we came to talk about the price of the coffee, tea, a coke, and 2 bars — coming to € 7 something. We thought she was wrong but that was what the change made it so we decided to check the menu. Sure enough the coffee was € 2& € 1.70 for the pot of tea. We were pleasantly surprised that this, slightly, tourist place was not trying to screw everyone(like just about anywhere else). While continuing to discuss the merits of the staff and prices I happened to look at the wine menu — and therein lies another surprise(it has long been known that restaurants have unknown wines for you to choose from, so you can’t go into Tesco’s and see you are being screwed on price) The Meetings have on their wine list the likes of Santa Rita 120, Blossom Hill, amongst other well known brands for a lot less that you would pay for a bottle in other restaurants — their prices are between € 12 and € 19(you pay € 18+ everywhere else) So along with their service, food(which I had another day) and price we were very happy with their honesty — for once joe public wasn’t getting done over just because it is a tourist spot. *No Check-in here( Unilocal App couldn’t find it, and my wireless HotSpot thought I was in Drumcondra!)
