West Kebab

We were staying at the Westport Plaza Hotel and went out to see the town in the few hours we had for our one day stay in Westport. Passed by this restaurant right down the street, and liked what we saw on the menu posted in the window. Tired of pub food and overpriced restaurants, we decided to go back there for dinner.
If you’re looking for ambience, this isn’t your place. But if you want good food at very low prices, you’ll find West Kebab will do just fine.
We ordered the combo plate for two, which was a huge mound of meat — 2 kinds of lamb, 2 of chicken, 2 pitas, and a small plate of lettuce, onions, tomato, and a delicious cabbage salad. We asked for a little more of the cabbage and the waitress gave us a considerable portion. All this for € 14. They don’t serve alcohol and we don’t drink soda, so this was the complete bill. Big change from what we’ve been spending for dinner every night.
The lamb chunks were cooked a little more than I like, but they were tender enough and tasty. All of the meat had less salt than I usually find in this type of food, which was appreciated. There is waitress service, and it was friendly and efficient.
They don’t take credit cards, and amazingly, they’re open until 1 AM!
