We were referred to this place by the people at Bar Flavio near the ferry. We were excited to have found it cause it looked like it could be a hidden gem. A complete disappointment — bad food, bad service. We had grilled sausage, fried calamari and 2 pasta plates. Everything was mediocre at best. We ordered draft beer it came out warm and sour, tasted stale. We took a sip and let the server know immediately about the beer and nothing was done. We ended up ordering another beer(bottled instead of draft). And then our grilled house made sausage was raw in the middle. The owner/manager walked by, we let her know and she acknowledges it but did nothing, didn’t even offer to re-cook the raw meat. We were just glad we didn’t get sick from the raw sausage. Pasta was ok at best. Half way thru the meal, a tour group came in to fill the restaurant. That’s how they get their business — contracting with tour operators. Save your appetite for elsewhere.

I concur w SC that this is the best pizza I have ever eaten. Delicious margherita pizza with great sauce and good amount of cheese from a wood burning stove for 5 €. We got this pizza 3 times in 2 days, you can also take it to go. The map on Unilocal is incorrect, it is past that main plaza. To get there, walk away from water on main street in Amalfi, about 5 minutes. On the left, you will see a walkway with a large menu on wall facing you. You then go up the stairs to the restaurant. [Days later in Napoli, we ate at the ‘world famous’ La Antica Pizzeria da Michele and found it to be inferior to the pizza at da Meme]

This was the best pizza i have ever eaten. It was the best restaurant of our trip of Rome, Floence, and Sorrento/Amalfi Coast. It is a bit tricky to find, but well worth the effort! The free dough bites alone at the start of the meal are worth the effort of finding this place. I dream about going back here so I can eat this pizza again. You are missing out if you are in the area and don’t eat here.

A hidden gem! It’s a couple minute walk from the marina but totally worth it. We stumbled upon this place walking around. At first I was very hesitant to try this place but I’m so glad my hubby insisted. Prices are very definitely cheaper than if you dined at one of the over priced restaurants near the marina.

This is a very local restaurant off the beaten tourist track in Amalfi, in the Piazza Dei Dogi area. We sat to just have a glass of wine and met Andrea Meme, the chef/owner of the restaurant and through pidgin Italian and English and the help of his waiter, he agreed to do an antipasti, primi piatti, and secondi for us of his choice. This was a stunning array of absolutely fresh and exquisitely prepared and served seafood extravaganza. The antipasti had mussels, clams, scaloppine of swordfish, tuna, polpette(octopus), gamberri and a miniature lobster-like prawn. He followed with a pasta of exquisite shellfish and a delicate lemony sauce and he concluded with the most delicious and silkily prepared Sea Bream that might be the best piece of fish that I’ ever eaten in a restaurant. We also had a carafe of both the house red and white wines, and a lovely lemon cake for dessert. All of this was € 81.50!The setting is in a converted chapel on a tiny side street under a stone arch and is well worth the effort that you may need to find it. GOTHERE, IFYOUAREINAMALFI!
