I found this place on Unilocal (always the best advice for food, in my opinion). My tastebuds were thrilled by the taste of my traditional Spaghetti alla Bolognese! The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and the homemade sauce was delicious! Although other reviews stated the service wasn’t good, our service was excellent! The young lady, Vanessa, waited on our every need/​desire. She was fabulous, to say the Very least!!! In addition, one of the owners came to greet us, in traditional Italian fashion! And lastly, we had the Tortino al cioccolata, this was the best desert I have ever had in my life! It is a soft rich chocolate cake with yummy cream filling overflowing from the cake (see picture and dream!) I can’t express my delight enough with this restaurant seated in the middle of Bologna!

As some of the other reviewers said — the food is excellent, the service is slow. Also, if you’re sitting outside, there is quite a lot of traffic.

Nothing bad to say… got lucky and found this cute side spot! The food was delicious! Not sure what the flour tortilla triangles go with, but I love tortillas so they went quick at my table. The spaghetti bolognese and lasagna bolognese were amazing dishes! Loved every bite! Could use some draft been but bottled Peroni did just fine! Hate siting next to through traffic but otherwise great location and friendly service!

Prepare to wait at least an hour and a half for orders. Staff do not communicate amongst themselves. They also don’t know how to read plate etiquette. And will likely grab your plate when your still eating from it. As the service gets so slow that their being pressured to rush you in order to seat arriving guests.

We found this sweet restaurant for lunch and everything we had was delicious — eggplant Parmesan, tricolore salad, and flourless chocolate cake. The staff was great and the location a great respite.

My husband and I have spent the past 2 weeks in Bologna and our goal to try as many restaurants as possible… we found Clavature early on and it definitely interfered with our goal since we have been back at least 3 times. It is wonderful, fresh food beautifully prepared and presented. Mario is ever present to ensure a perfect dining experience. Our favorite dishes, were the tortollonis, all with homemade pasta a favorite is filled with ricotta, topped with a creamy panchetta sauce.
lasagna Bolognese is perfect, fresh and delicious salads and I had a pasta in tomato sauce that was fabulous. Dining inside or out the atmosphere is warm and comfortable.
