Gelato heaven and bread heaven. I come here every time! The staff so friendly I love love it here. Have to have a soft cone or even a lemon granita. Very fair euro prices. Perfect stop if you make it to the island

Given the small size of Capri, it’s obvious that gelato choices will be limited. Of the few options, the Gastronomia was the highest rated on Unilocal so my friend and I elected to go here. You have to take the trolley from the base of Capri up to the top to get to this place. It is surrounded by luxury shops like Miu Miu and Louis Vuitton, definitely unexpected. There was a decent sized line but it moved pretty quickly. I ordered«After Eight» and chocolate in a waffle bowl with hot fudge. I loved the fresh, warm waffle bowl! However, the hot fudge melted the gelato really quickly and made it a hot goopy mess. The texture of the gelato was perfect but the flavor was just okay. Good in terms of gelato in Capri, but not in Italy as a whole. I would definitely come back to try some traditional Italian pastries or some of their lunch items. Looked and smelled amazing!

They are an institution in Capri. They served the best gelato I had in my entire Italy trip. They even make their own waffle cones, right in front of you. Only in Italy ! Also lots of locals in this place. I badly wanted to try their baked stuff and they even seemed to have some yummy looking savory sandwiches etc.. We had the pistachio and sour cherry gelato, both were to die for. Must go if you are in Capri.

Lives up to the hype with its sumptuous gelato. The smell of the waffle cones cooking lured us to this place. The chocolate so rich, the frutti di bosco so fresh, it is such a treat! There are a million places to get gelato in Italy, but it’s worth it to do your homework and go to the great ones. It really is better.

We ended just about every evening here for our midnight ice cream(gelato). You can’t miss it. There’s a long queue in front, regardless of the time of day or night, and you can always smell the freshly made cones cooking as you pass by. It is always worth the wait, anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes depending on the time of day and time of the year. You have to have the fresh cone at least once and the ice cream in a cup is just as good. Wonderful place to end any evening or just before the siesta at lunch time. This is a must visit on Capri!

Fabulous take away gelati. Delicious. I had one scoop of chocolate and one of coffee, both were fantastic. My wife had stracciatella and loved it. We both had waffle cones and they were delicious, crispy and sweet but not too sweet. And just 3 Euros each for a large cone with two large scoops of ice cream. A must visit.

This was both mine and my husband’s favorite gelato spot in Italy. I tried the Fantesie(sp?) di Capri and my husband tried the lemon sherbet, and we were impressed with both. The flavors and textures are spot on. And the cones are made fresh right in front of you. A must try little spot!

I like Capri but compared to the other cities in the South of Italy, I don’t really love it. I felt the same way about Gastronomia di Buonocore Raffaele. There is certainly nothing wrong with this shop and the gelato is fine but just like Capri I wasn’t as impressed as I thought I would be given Capri’s splendid reputation and glowing reviews from previous travelers. What we found is that you’ll walk around Capri not knowing where to stop for a quick bite and then this shop will grab your attention with the sweet smell of waffle cones being made wafting towards you. Then you’ll see many tourists lining up for this and it reels you in. For about 2.5 euros you can get a nicely sized waffle cone with fairly generous scoops of gelato. Here I tried the Stracciatella and the Mango sorbet. Both were nice flavors but not above and beyond anything else we had in Rome or other cities. Still better than gelato in the U.S. without a doubt. In the end, as far as the south of Italy goes, I much prefer Raki for gelato. We also had the mini pizza at 2.5 euros and it definitely was not impressive. It was lukewarm and tasted slightly above microwavable pizza. I’m not trying to be harsh but it really was not up to the Italian standard. Overall, just A-Ok.

Capri isn’t cheap, it makes makes no apologies about it. But if you’re on a day trip and just fancy a quick bite to eat to keep you going, try here. 2 and a half euros for a mini pizza, big wedges of quiche and hearty sandwiches for five euros. All made fresh in their bakery. The ice cream selection is pretty good too. Be warned it get fairly crowded in the tiny bakery, so sharpen those elbows before heading to the counter.

We spent the day doing a tour on the island of Capri… and what a day it was and what a place it was!!! At the end of our day just before heading back to Positano, our guide lead us over to this nice popular Gelato business. We didn’t go inside instead got in line outside where they were making fresh cones for Gelato. We all ordered fresh in different flavors. What a way to end our day in Capri… A must place to stop if you want a treat…

So I literally had to go all the way to Italy to find Gelato that was comparable to Bella, and I found it! On the beautiful isle of Capri, as you walk through the fancy city centre, you will smell the aroma of fresh waffle cones. Follow that. You’ll see a line up. Wait in line. It’s worth it. They have a special flavour — Gelati di Capri — Vanilla, Almonds, and Nutella. Best gelato I have ever had. NOLIE. Inside the bakery, you will also find delicious Capri treats. We got a few of their most popular pastries, a lemon puff with custard. It was mouthwatering. As if Capri was not beautiful enough, Buonocore Raffaele takes it over the top.

Awesome gelatto, I didn’t get a chance to go inside the bakery but lined up with the tourists to see what the commotion was about. The gelattos come in standard sizes 2.5 € for smll(2 balls) and they are indeed delicious. Worth the wait make sure to go at night when the tourists from Napoli are not there the lines are not as long.

Awesome gelato. Great location, friendly service. At the end of the day, for gelato, it’s all about the quality and the freshness of the ingredients. This place was awesome. If traveling in the Mediterranean check out some of the other reviews I have of gelato joints. If I were to come back to Capri I would for sure come here at least every day, probably twice or three times per day.

At first glance this looks like any other gelato joint and bakery. Upon further review we found scrumptious looking baked treats and some of the best gelato we had during our stay in Italy. But the secret to this shop’s magic are the freshly pressed and rolled waffle cones. Uhh yeah you read that part correctly. Amazingly crunchy, slightly warm, homemade waffle cones. Paired with their hazelnut gelato — AH! So good we went twice in two days. And if I were still in Capri I would be there right now!

I wish I could rap… Because I would write my first song on how epic this place is. We went 6 – 7 times in the 4 days we were in Capri. I was not allowed to go the last morning we were in town for fear of not being able to fit on the plane. You can smell the handmade sugar cones for blocks. BOOM!!!
