Young innovation always packs surprises and the Italians all around Castelfalfi represent that spirit to the fullest. This restaurant is edible proof! The lunch I had there was homemade head to toe and courses were presented in a rustic freshness that was mouthwatering before I even took a bite. My favorite was actually the appetizer, crispy Tuscan focaccia accompanied by three scrumptious spreads. Well, on second thought, maybe my favorite was the tagliata served with a side of boiling olive oil to drizzle. But how can you not love the pasta, three different kinds ?! A digestive walk was called for and Castelfalfi is the perfect spot to stroll on a blissful Tuscan afternoon. Life is good :)

This is a really cute restaurant located in Castelfalfi, Tuscany and keeping to it’s name you will quite literally see rosemary sprigs at every corner! ;-). I went as part of a blogger day at Castelfalfi and we tried all sorts of yummy specialities including a really fantastic antipasti selection of cheeses, meats, hot bread and truffle sauce. It was all divine. We also tried a trio of primi — gnudi — veggie lasagna — rvaioli with a white bianco ragu. All of it — was delicious. For our second course we had baccala alla livornese which I really enjoyed. Also some fried chicken and bell peppers, and a beautiful tagliata with roasted potatoes. Perfectly tender and the potatoes — the right amount of crispy. With our meal we enjoyed the local red wine. I really found it easy to drink and probably had at least a half a bottle myself. Dessert was also a sample plate. My favorite was the lemon custard pie which was the perfect amount of tangy sweetness. This is somwhere you want to tell people to eat — especially if they are in this area. Bön appetit!
