Hotel Cetus

It’s a simple 4 star hotel and I’m going to give it a simple 4 stars — IN THE OFF SEASON.
I stayed in October 2015 in the off season and can say that this hotel is really good value for the money — you have a great sea view and you’re right over the ocean so you can hear it lapping up on the wall below your bedroom window. There’s a small parking lot, and when the hotel is not full you can get a spot. Breakfast is ok. Staff is friendly. Rooms are clean, and the upgraded modern «superior» room was very cute IMO.
Negatives: One night we didn’t have hot water, which was a bummer, they said it was because they used too much for a wedding that day (if that is a common problem you think you’d get a separate boiler.) One thing that is a bit odd is that the elevator goes from the parking lot straight down, stopping at the 3d floor reception to open its doors apparently for security, but this means you don’t frequently have contact with front desk staff. It feels a bit impersonal that way — I literally didn’t have any contact with them for 5 days except for when there was no hot water! My parents tried the restaurant, which many say is excellent, but they didn’t like it. We had some very good food in nearby Vietri.
If i were staying during the heat of the summer, I’d be worried about the private beach club below that plays club music late into the night, and the restaurant terrace, not far from the room terraces, which would keep you up late. But as I didn’t experience these things first hand but had only read worrysome reviews about them, I won’t mark it down for that.
