Pros:
– carlo is AMAZINGLY helpful, very responsive, willing to help w. anything (book tours etc)
– breakfast is generous and delicious
– beautiful, spacious, clean rooms with very large bathroom
– great location, esp if you want to get a night cap or gelato before heading up to bed
– walking distance of all the major sights, 20 min tops to the train station for getting to/​from
– elevator in building so no need to hike up many flights at the end of the night
Cons:
– cash only, so atm fees can add up if you’re only able to take out $ 300/​day for a longer stay
– reception hours (unlike a hotel) are limited, so if you’re arriving on a late train, you’re out of luck (we had to stay in a different b&b our first night because reception was closed by the time we were slated to arrive). that said, carlo is super communicative so he might make an exception if you ask. he was also very accommodating and let us leave our bags at reception prior to check-​in and after check-​out so that we could go sightseeing
– only four rooms available so if you’re interested, book it!
overall, the pros definitely outweigh the cons (just wanted to be fair). thanks for a great stay, carlo!

Carlo is so wonderful! He was extremely welcoming and made my friend and i feel like we could call the little tucked away b and b our home for our stay in Italy. The room was huge and gorgeous but what made it for us was the beautiful bathroom. Carlo will help you with whatever you need. Our stay in his b and b definitely made our experience in florence authentic and wonderful.
