Decent Chinese food for Florence. A little too expensive for what it is. My noodle dish was too sweet for my taste. If you’re in need of something not Italian, this should suffice.

J’aime cet endroit.

We have had pasta all week for every meal. Wanting something different we Unilocaled this place and found out it had good reviews. After our meal was done I would have to agree this spot is a good restaurant for sure. If your looking for good asian good in Florence check this place out.

Who doesn’t love dumplings and noodles? Add some Tuscany glitter and that’s it! The only flaw of this place is the fact that it’s always full and you have to book a table a few days earlier. For everything else, God has blessed this food. It’s heaven. A choice of steamed dumplings follows 2 pages of different noodles, all made in front of you on the spot by an amazing pasta juggler. Also appetizers and a few meat dishes are very tasty and they are also quite fast in preparing your order. During the wait, you can read the first pages on the menu explaining their concept, while sipping a hot cup of tea which will be constantly refilled throughout the meal. Take out is available too! Exquisite!

Food is lousy. it’s neither here nor there. Noodle soup is extremely salty. I think the name«dim sum» is misleading for Asia standard.

This is supposed to be a Chinese restaurant but the basic noodle dish they served is nothing like Chinese. Beef noodle soup does not have a single drop of soy sauce, but only 3 thin pieces of beef with bean sprouts. The noodles were made in front of you for show but it is not cooked well and stuck to my teeth. I think when I return to Florence in a few years, this restaurant will be closed. Or I hope so.

Delicious! We had pork dumplings and Japanese style kebabs. $ 12 each for a good lunch that wasn’t pizza or pasta? Great deal. Water, coffee and tea all included at lunch.

Recomendado!

I’ve been debating between 3 or 4 stars here, because on one hand it’s very average by any Asian food snob standard, but it’s also really good in the context of Italy. Before I stereotype the entire country of Italy for not having good Chinese food, it’s fair to say that outside of Chinatown and touristy spots, there aren’t that many to choose from in Milan, Florence, Pisa, Rome and Venice, especially one that carries dim sum. The ones we did randomly choose, had very Westernized menu items, so we had very low expectation for Dim Sum. We ordered lobster dumpling, a pork noodle soup and a crab stir-fry noodle dish. The dumpling was dry and a disaster, the beef noodle soup was average, though our crab noodles was a delight. We also really liked their décor and cleanliness of their restroom, so I settled for a 4 star review. After finishing our food, we walked away satisfied having scratching our Asian food itch. But if we weren’t in Italy and compare Dim Sum to restaurants on the East Coast, this would have been a 2 star review. Come to Dim Sum to scratch your Asian itch, end of story. It’s a tad above other Chinese food you’ll find in the touristy areas.

Some background first: I lived in Asia(Japan) and travelled almost any country in the Orient for work(I miss North Korea, but I’ll survive for now…), so I am a «little» picky when it comes to Asian, a type of cuisine that I adore, but that is generally mistreated in Italy. Came at Dim Sum with no expectations, but I was attracted by the Chinese chef that was kneading the dough for«udon» just like they do it in Machida(Tokyo). Decided to give it a go, and well… Great job«Dim Sum», the noodles and the dim sum were really really nice. Perfection is on the other side of the world for these dishes, but wow, I will most certainly come back there again!

I LOVE This place! My friends and I got sick of Italian food so we wanted to try some noodles. Ive had the egg noodles and the noodles in a soup bowl with broth with vegetables and pork dumplings which were excellent. I crave this the spring rolls are also very good!

Came here with my fellow Unilocalers a week ago and I found this restaurant to be pretty good. I was impressed with the quality of the pasta. The noodles were good. I tried the veggie dim sum and the veggie noodle soup(in brodo). the dim sum was alright, but definitely needed some kind of sauce, such as shoyu or something spicy! By themselves they weren’t anything special. But the soup was very good, with a salty broth. All in all, for the price and the continuous refills of hot tea I was satisfied with my meal. I really want to try the spring rolls, which i heard were good. Only downside was that I found the place to be loud. Since it was packed and everyone talking, and nothing to absorb the sound, everyone’s conversation was bouncing around this little place and it got a little too loud for me. But I would recommend coming here, just try to get in early because it looks like this place fills up fast! We came at 7:30, but by 8pm it was full and there were people waiting for a table.

Here is my gringo version of Chinese food in Italy… My family loved almost everything. We had sticky rice and jasmine rice, spring rolls, spicy pork soup and vegetable soup, shrimp in zucchini blossoms(my favorite), sea bass, and lots of dumplings — beef/bacon, veggie, and shrimp. The only thing that would get 4 stars was the artichoke. If you want a break from Italian food — keep it simple. Go here! TB

I’m a big fan of asian food but unfortunately in Florence it’s pretty difficult to find something good and«original», especially when talking about Chinese food. I had bookmarked this place ages ago but never had the chance to go(they’re closed on Mondays!). I finally got to try it and was really satisfied! Everything was delicious, especially a pork dumpling I tried and the homemade noodles; water and tea are included and the friendly waitresses will keep refilling your glasses throughout the dinner. The only thing I didn’t like was the dessert: both mine and my friend’s. I think a place like this should carry Chinese desserts rather than Italian ones and the quality was not really good, nor the taste. Other than that though, I loved the meal and will definitely be back!

We’ve been in Southern Italy for several months and don’t see much Asian cuisine. We happened by Dim Sum at dinner time and were so pleased! The hand-pulled noodles and the dumplings were all perfect. The tuna appetizer wasn’t very good — the tuna was not sashimi quality. But we’d eat here again!

Well crafted dumplings and wonderfully chewy hand pulled noodles. Wine list a little pricey but really I should’ve just had beer. A great place if you need a break from the norm.

I was recommended this place by a friend and always passed by when on the famous via dei neri street. It has a very contemporary asian fusion vibe and boy does it deliver. Despite the space itself being VERY small, the tables were comfortable and the staff friendly. We ordered white wine and water, and every table got hot tea for free which I thought was a nice touch. We ordered the traditional ‘dim sum’ dumplings as appetizers and got the three different kinds, stuffed with octopus & potato, beef and bacon and vegetables. All were beautifully cooked. I ordered a noodle dish with vegetables that was really special. Behind us a guy one of the chefs was actually on-hand making the noodles which made the experiece even more fun. A friend of mine got the noodles in a broth which was good and the thai beef was also a really flavorful dish. I would order a lot because honestly I was not full when the meal was done, that was the only downside. The table next to us got a crispy shrimp dish that looked divine. For each of us, with wine, the bill came out to 22 euros per person. I have to say, Florence is impressing me more than ever with the quality of ethnic food on offer lately, and I have been here since 2007.
