Worst service ever. One hour to get food. And it was not good. I don’t know who told them that’s how YU make Mexican food. It was embarrassing and a disgrace to Mexicans.

The burger was tasty, though the meat was undercooked. It took them 35 mins to take our order to the table. Service was slow. It seems they didn’t have enough people working tonight as the same bartender was the waitress, cashier and also helped preparing the plates. My wife had a salad which was ok. The guests from the table next to us had a huge dog that moved all over around and bothered the other guests.

A good place for a quick bite to eat. My hubby and I came across this pub when we stopped at the Wash and Dry. As our clothes washed and dried, we had a beer and little lunch, the bartender knew English. I’m pretty sure she was from England because her accent. It was quite slow for late afternoon(2pm — In Rome everyone is going to lunch!). I bet it is busy at night since most places close at 10 – 11. And this place is open until 1am.

Amo Linda, Mario, e tutti studenti de giapponese che andare a questo bar! Great crowd of folks who make you feel right at home. The atmosphere varies from night to night, however there are some mainstays that will welcome you back again and again. Beers on tap are varied and interesting, including one of my personal favorites, Dragoon Ale. Food is decidedly American-themed, cooked with an Italian mindset(a common interpretation by Italians akin to how folks in the US «Americanize» Italian food). Closing time seems to vary from night to night, however I’ve never seen them close before midnight.

I’m super grateful to Stephanie U for Unilocaling up I 5 Tavoli! Having not eaten anything since breakfast, I was famished by late-afternoon. The idea of a quick burger and a pint sounded like precisely what I needed to keep powering through the rest of the day. Not to be deterred by a completely empty house, I strolled in and was warmly greeted by the sole employee manning the bar. It’s a good thing it wasn’t rammed, because seating is at a premium in this little pub. And with menu options ranging from burgers topped with ‘mozzarella, cheese, and carrot’ or ‘bacon, Tabasco, and jalapeño’ to ostensibly Mexican dishes like ‘burritos con carne’ and ‘enciladas con pollo e formaggio’, how could one go wrong… right? Ultimately, whilst the ingredients to my della casa burger may have been a bit unorthodox — spinach, eggplant, artichoke, olive sauce — it ended up working out to be a perfect savoury snack. Though the meat was waaaay well-done, I wasn’t about to complain. Who knows how sanitary food-prep is here. And the fluffy bun was akin to biting into a flavourful crunchy cloud. Ice cold beer, gluttonous artery-clogging food, and an Evanescence album I’ve not listened to in years playing on the sound system round out to an experience I’d be completely willing to repeat.

Cinque Tavoli is on via del Sole, towards Piazza Santa Maria Novella. It’s a small pub with five tables(hence its name), with a display of beer bottles from around the world and framed sculptures that are definitely on the bizarre/grotesque side. Besides your usual drinks and cocktails, there is a variety of beers both on tap and bottled(the lone non-European beer is Bud), and an extensive menu of sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, finger foods, and, surprisingly, Mexican food. They also have pizza and some salads, but honestly, who goes to a pub for a salad? No sir. You need a good hamburger with that lager, and at Cinque Tavoli they make a SERIOUSLY good burger. It could very well be the bun — crispy on the outside, and soft inside. Mmmm. The only downside is that when it gets busy inside(especially on weekends), you’ll have to wait for your burger — but a burger like theirs is definitely worth waiting for.
