My favorite pastry store when I was a student here in Firenze… a long time ago. I stopped in again to pick up some dessert. I bought some fried rice balls rolled in granulated sugar and creamed filled puffs in pistachio, zabaglione and chocolate. Delicious-​issimo!!!

I lived here, I would gain lots of weight because it is hard to resist the pastries and sweet desserts from this bakery.
I think it is the best in the area.

This is one of my FAVorite Pasticceria. Since I have moved into this zona, it has become my regular breakfast spot. The baristas are very friendly and attentive, the pastries are fresh and so scrumptious! You must try the bomboloni, they are fantastic here. .. . my personal favorites are the chocolate bomboloni with chocolate filling. The cream used for these pastries are top quality, both plain cream and chocolate are top notch. BTW, bomboloni are basically cream filled donuts.. . and are offered fresh in the morning and then again at 4pm (after school) at most bars. So when you see a sign outside the pasticceria saying «Bomboloni Caldi alle 16:00» it means there are hot bomboloni at 4pm!
I love that even when it’s crowded, I can find a spot to sit without waiting to long. I like that they offer daily newspapers, I LOVE that they don’t charge table fees !!

Not only does this bakery have some of the very best pastries around (and one of the best selections), they are always well staffed and are wonderfully, surprisingly, haltingly friendly.
I lived above the place for four months or so; every morning I’d come in the back and grab a cappucino (you’re suppose to pay at the counter first, but uh, just act like you know what you’re doing and it all works out), went on to select a pastry while they were making it and paid, and magically it was on a plate for me where my cappucino had just been brewed at the (standing) bar.
Sometimes I forgot to pay because I was in a rush, and they were always kind about picking up the tab the next day. Ahh, the pleasures of a cash business.
When I left, though my Italian was still poor (Florentines largely speak English, it’s hard place to learn Italian!) and I wasn’t able to have a really legit conversation, I got the point across that it was my last day and I wouldn’t be back, and they refused to let me pay for my breakfast. That’s five star customer service!

Yes, you’re in Italy and you are surrounding by amazing food. Every corner has a pasticceria/​café and the food is amazing. Yayayayayayaya, but you will THANK ME (hopefully by bringing me back goodies from here) if you go here.
ALL of their pastries are indescribably delectable. The winner is: NONNINA ALLA CREMA. Yes, you don’t know what it is. YES, YOU WILL LOVE IT. I lived across the street from here for month and ate it DAILY. My bff ate at least 3 a day. NOT A JOKE.
