Updating my review as we’ve now eaten here 3 times(twice as takeout) — this place is an oasis! Small staple menu but after 2 weeks of the Italian — pasta, pizza, etc. my soul was dying for some asian food– i didnt dare dream a Korean restaurant would be here! The chapchae and mandoo are actually pretty good. The pajeon is a bit greasy and wish it was pan fried a bit longer but pretty good. Hecan make it spicy which is nice. Tukbokki was served luke warm so not good — skip. Bulgogi was a bit sweet but filling and decent. My husband liked this. Comes with small cup of soup. Bibimbap — probably the best bang for your buck — good mix and filling but there is no egg! Comes with small soup. You can purchase kimchee — there is no free banchan here. This place is excellent as takeout– he packages everything up nicely. There is another Korean restaurant called Gangnam which is bigger and has more menu items like Korean BBQ and is served with banchan. They are pretty good too but Sapore della Corea is fast, simple, and reliable for basic items. Gangnam I strongly suggest getting areservation.

FINALLY real Korean food in Florence! I’ve been living here for almost 20 years and have been waiting for this moment! This is a small place with about 8 or 10 tables, not an actual restaurant but more like a snack place or good for a quick meal, kind of like a take away(actually I think they do a lot of take away). It is actually run by real Koreans and the food is authentic. The menu is very limited, about 10 items, but it has some main staples that lovers of Korean cuisine crave: bibimbop, bulgogi, chap jae, dumplings, spicy rice cakes and Korean fried chicken, all served in paper/styrofoam containers with disposable utensils. Personally, I prefer places that have few dishes because you know that things are fresh and homemade. I had a long lunch there and noticed that just about all the other customers were Korean(or at least Asian) and there were very few Italians, which is a good sign. I had the bulgogi(marinated beef over rice) and it was tasty and came with a miso soup on the side. I’ll definitely be back again soon! The prices are very reasonable, the portions are decent, the locale is simple and clean. This is the perfect place to go to for some real Asian food in Florence. Don’t expect anything fancy but do expect hearty, authentic food!

I’m so excited, and I just can’t hide it! We’ve found delicious Korean food in Florence. Whenever I have a Korean food craving, I have to make it myself… but, lately this heatwave keeps me far away from my kitchen. Thank goodness we found Rosticceria On! The cute Korean rosticceria with wonderfullly nice service is located right near the main train station(Santa Maria Novella). The menu offers limited choices but, I can tell you that we’ve tried everything… EVERYTHING and it’s all fingerlicking good. The place is small, but offers various seating options. Here are my recommendations: bulgogi — marinated beef with rice(€ 8.90), bibimbap — fresh marinated vegetables served with rice(€ 8.90), jap chae — glass noodles with vegetables and meat(€ 8.90), dakgangjung — spicy/sweet marinated chicken pieces(€ 4.90÷6 pieces or € 6.90÷10 pieces) and the tteokbokki — spicy rice cake(€ 5.90). They added some summer drinks: iced american coffee(€ 3.50), pomegranate iced tea(€ 3.90), plum iced tea(€ 3.90), cherry iced tea(€ 3.90) to the menu and a korean dessert specialty patbingsu(shaved ice with sweet red bean). I agree with one of the reviewers that if you do not like spicy food, the choices are limited to the small menu, but there are definitely non-spicy items to try like the dumplings, jap chae and meat dishes. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the mood for some Korean food!
