I went for the first time to this pizzeria last night really excited because I have heard really great things about this place. We were in a big group of friends for a friend’s birthday who knew the place well since she lives in the same area. While not seeming that«special» from the outside — inside there was actually a lot of space and every table occupied with people. It looked like a typical ‘find’ in Florence. Unfortunately there were so many problems which made me think to never return to this place. We had a reservation for 9pm but yet when we arrived our table was not ready. They offered us prosecco, which was nice, but while we all expected to wait maybe 10 or 15 minutes they had us waiting for ONEHOUR to sit down. It was very awkward to be standing in such a big group so close to where people were eating. The excuse they gave us was that in order to make more money because«c’e un crisi», they had other people eating at our tables who arrived earlier who were not leaving. Umm, ok?! Is that our problem? While I very much understand the economic situation in Italy, I think this is very bad behavior for the restaurant and for the waiter. It is very unprofessional to givel people excuses like the ones that we heard. What he should have said was«I’m sorry but I will try and resolve your situation ASAP or just tell us to go elsewhere. « By the way he also said that we would get our pizza’s faster because we waited so long. After finally getting seated at 10pm, we got our pizza’s a half hour later at 10:30 with some people getting theirs even later which honestly at this point was a joke. Pizza’s take max 5 minutes to cook. and plus considering the situation they could have been a bit faster. I got the ‘margerita speciali’ which was a regular margarita with a thicker crust and bufala. It was good but I have had better pizza in Florence. The crust of my pizza had many burned areas. When we ordered dessert we found out that their famous chocolate cake was finishing so the waitress just brought some plates for everyone to share. The cake was really really good but once again it would have been nice if everyone could have gotten a peice. Normally I am not so harsh on a restaurant, especially one that I think could have been good, but I just think there are so many things that could have been remedied in this kind of situation. Even by just being honest and telling us they gave our reservation away instead of this bullshit about ‘crisi’ and someone else fault. No customer wants to hear excuses but rather prefers a resolution to a problem. I would not go here again because I think it was a terrible first experience.
