Nice bar on the piazza with decent seating outside. We ordered two glasses of wine for 5 euros each. The two bartenders were quite friendly and accommodating. They have wifi here as well

If you are in Florence, you should once climb your way up to Piazzale Michelangelo. One can either stop by Pop Café before or after this excursion, but come here for an aperatif(Spritz), wine with some delights(cheese, ham, etc) or a coffee. We came here after our climb and were thirsty. The staff brought us water and offered us some delicious red wine, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The tables around us were occupied not only by tourists, but locals who were working around. Whether they were taking a break from their shops or closed it for the day. Place was filled with laughers, music and a positive youthful vibe. If I was to come to Florence again, I will definitely come here again and enjoy another drink after the climb. This time will definitely try the treats they had to offer.

How did it get such a bad review? I loved this place, the location, the music, the vibe, the aperitivo food selection, the wine I ordered. We had a great little time here.

We really enjoyed how relaxed it was here. We sat outside, facing Santo Spirito Piazza. Can’t speak highly enough about how awesome the location is. It’s definitely tucked away from all of the buzz in the historic center — which was just what we needed! We came for a quick pick me up afternoon coffee and my hubs had a pilsner. Was decently priced, too. Loved it!

Congratulations Popcafé, you’ve earned my first 1-star review! Worst mojitos we’ve ever had, and one of the bartenders has an attitude problem. My man and I got 2 mojitos. I love vitamin-C, but really all we could taste in the drinks was lime and lime. We have NEVER asked a bartender to fix a drink, but these were really undrinkable. Waiting until he wasn’t busy, I told the bartender as nicely as I could that it was way too sour(this was all in Italian). He didn’t apologize(I wasn’t expecting him to, but anyway…), he grabbed the drinks, put more sugar, gave them back to me and told me to stir them. I happily did. I told him nicely, SO sorry, but now they’re just sour AND sweet. He looked at me like I was wasting his time. He put more soda water in them. REALLY??? THANKSFORTHE € 8LEMONADE!!! I’m not a diva, and I hate the«customer is always right» mindset. But at this point I realized we paid € 15 for two of the worst drinks we’ve had, served in a PLASTIC little cup, and I *think* I deserve to get at least a reasonable drink for that money. I retorted, honestly still nicely and calm(and watching closely so he wouldn’t spit in my drink), «sorry but now they’re just weak…» He was SO fed up with me; he angrily grabbed the rum bottle and put some alcohol in our drinks. I say«some» because he still barely put any in them — the bottle actually had less than half a shot of rum in it. He looked at me and said, with an attitude: «happy now?» WOW. I went back outside and funny enough, upon telling one of our friends what happened, he shared with us his also not-so-pleasant experience he had here a few days earlier, involving a rude bartender as well. Popcafé, you lost 3 customers that day. I suggest you work on your drink-making and customer service.

Pop Café is a little bit like an institution in Florence. Like many similar iconic locale’s, it has been shut down by the cops, reopened, shut down, reopened and always seems to attract the hipster eclectic crowd including both Italians and foreigners. I don’t go there very often but when I do, I will say they make a pretty bad ass bloody Mary, and don’t ever expect to see a bathroom(I think theirs self-combusted in 1999). One of the best parts about having a night out at Pop café is the people-watching. I guarentee you will see at least one person fall on their face drunk and just this last time I saw a guy fall twice and be very very sad that he spilled his drink. I also overheard a conversation between some Brits about how much money it would take them to cut their hair off.(about 50 euros). I would sit outside if you can manage the cold and just have yourself a santo spirito night, nearby Volume is also a nice place but way too overcrowded after aperitivo.

Popcafe’ was my first apericena in Firenze, so it holds a special little place in my heart. Popcafe’ is also the place I keep coming back to when I’m in the mood for an apericena or a drink with friends ORBOTH ;) I am a big fan of Popcafe’s apericena. They always seem to have really fresh yummie food, for example. quinoa salad with veggies, hummus, tartufo(truffle) mini-sandwiches, and fresh fruit and veggies I have never been disappointed with the selection of food or the cocktails, beer, wine. They sometimes have a DJ, playing modern or ‘80s music in the evening. This little bar is located in piazza Santo Spirito. It’s a bit small so tables fill up fast. They also have tables in a covered outdoor area right in the piazza. Great for spring/summer time or if you’re into doing some people watching, as there are some interestin’ folks around that there S. Spirito ;)

Video link:
