This place is a bit touristy but the food was good. We went during a pretty slack time and the service was even more so. Overall all I would say the food and prices are good and fair while the service could definitely use some improvement.

This is some of the best food I’ve had in Italy, which is saying a lot. I got the veal steak with rosemary potatoes, and it was amongst the best steaks I’ve had in years. The service is average, but the food more than makes up for it

Incredible food and very reasonably priced. There is little doubt why this is on the Michelin guide. Try the truffle ravioli; it lives up to the hype. The Tuscan chicken was incredible and simple yet amongst the best chicken dishes I’ve had.

Hello Chef Boyardee… I wasn’t a fan when I was a kid either. This place was a fast choice and we regret it. Hubs and I had been walking all day. We wanted to go to Pepo right next door and I thought the web said open but it was a mistype. We were hot and tired and hungry, so we chose here instead. Obviously more of a touristy place and we have been staying away from those. Wish we had trusted our gut here. Olive oil — yuk, I had to add salt and pepper to make it bearable. Bread — just ok. My meal was a bolognese. Hubby had a truffle cream sauce tortellini with diced ham. His was better but he still compared it to Olive Garden.(Which we consider the most basic of «Italian» food) Wine, indoor eclectic décor, and service were the reason for the extra star. Sorry Zaza, didn’t impress.

Very well run place, but you need a reservation or you’ll never get a table, The food is excellent ordered the steak as someone else said here, the prices are very reasonable and the service is very good

Expensive! I ordered the spinach ravioli with truffle cream and tried my friend’s order of seafood spaghetti. The food was good but not up to my expectations. The truffle cream didn’t have a strong truffle taste and the ravioli was bland but I loved the amount of cream — see picture. The seafood spaghetti was bland too. After having one good dish, I tend to search for another dish up to par. The free bread was yummy though! Not stale and a generous amount was given. Free wifi. Huge bathroom.

3 stars. Tourists love this place. I can see why… sort of. Extensive menu, eclectic little designed interior and outdoor seating, decent prices(a lot of people around us ordered the gigantic florentine steak!) but I have to say, taste wise not of my most memorable. Experience wise, fun. Not a bad option for a large group, either, and definitely something for everything, just all things considered(and comparing this to other places we ate at in Italy) it’s a 3 out of 5 for me.

I’ve read so many incredible reviews about Za Za that I couldn’t leave Florence without coming here to eat. I came here on my last night in Florence after the Chianti wine tour. The place was packed, but we managed to get a seat for two in the outside tent. It was a little cold that night but there were heat lamps, so it wasn’t too bad. The menu is huge, a lot to choose from. I decided to get the pesto pasta(my first time having pesto while in Florence). It was delicious! The pesto sauce was good, but honestly, not too different from what I get in the US. I also got the apple tart with homemade cream cheese for dessert. The apple tart was delicious — soft, moist and sugary. I didn’t think I would like the cream cheese because it’s a yellow color, but it was quite tasty. I kind of wished I had strawberries and dipped it in the cream cheese(that is one of the dessert options). Service was a bit slow too. It seems like he had a lot of tables to manage, so he was constantly running around to make sure everything was okay. Overall, it was an okay experience. I will be back for the dessert, but nothing else.

Everything here is so delicious and make sure you order from their truffle menu! I don’t think you can go wrong with anything you order. Best Florence restaurant by far!!! Oh and don’t forget to order tiramisu for dessert

ZaZa’s is the perfect restaurant! I’ve been multiple times and the atmosphere is always warm and quirky — the interior of this place is amazing(I recommend going inside to eat — though the outside may be pretty). The house red wine is pretty cheap when split between people, but we also once ordered a Prosecco which went swimmingly though a bit more expensive. The truffle here is amazing. The truffle pasta, the truffle omelette, the truffle ravioli, etc. I ordered the pesto pasta once which was equally as good. As for the secondo, the truffle chicken breast with roasted potatoes tasted great. It was paired wonderfully together. And though I haven’t ordered the Florentine steak myself, from what I’ve stolen off of my friend’s plates, I can say that it is delicious! What really blows me away however, is a salad I ordered. I can’t remember the name but I do remember the pecorino cheese and pear. Together, it tasted amazing. Highly recommend. Love ZaZa’s, one of the places I’ll miss when I leave Firenze.

Thank god for friends who have been to Florence who recommend restaurants to you. I came here at the end of a very long and pretty cold day in Florence and I couldn’t be happier. First, the atmosphere is cozy and romantic without being stifling. It’s classic but without feeling stuffy and too traditional or cliché. This would be a great place to play«i-Spy». My service was wonderful, my waitress was attentive and nice. I ordered a glass of the Pinot Grigio and the lasagne. Wow. I’m sure everything on the menu is delicious, but the lasagne was over-the-top amazing. It melted in my mouth and had the perfect flavor. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Unbelievably good. If you are craving pasta, there is no other place to go. As I’m studying abroad in Florence, Za Za has become the go-to dinner spot. All of the pastas are delicious, the foccaccia is amazing and the wine is yummy and cheap. My favorites so far have been the fettucine with fresh pesto and fettucine with sliced porcini. The truffle spreads are also incredible, one of their specialities that we got to try as samples one night. The flavors in every dish are fresh and distinct and the pasta is cooked perfectly so it’s delicate and al dente. Wine, bread and pasta all for under 15 euro? Sign me up. If you’re in the area for even one night, you MUST try Za Za. The ambience inside is also very cozy and lovely, classic Italian. The outside seating is also very comfortable for lunch on a sunny day.

The best food I EVER had! I love Italian food and eating here made me cry — I loved it so much. Lots of variety, the truffle menu is wonderful and in general, there’s nothing bad on the menu. I loved everything I ordered. For example: I ordered the Caesar salad and the freshly made croutons were exceptional. The dressing creamy, not over-powering and the chicken was delicious. Next was their traditional lasagna. Again, I wanted to cry! So delicious. It’s not like the American version — heavy tomato sauce, etc. It was made with a crème sauce, sausage, and the most wonderful pasta… It’s to die for. Another visit, I had the carbonara dish — again, the dish brought tears to my eyes. Their steaks? Heaven… it’s enough to feed 2 – 3 people. The aroma fills the air and you can’t help staring at other patrons while they consume it. I think this is the best restaurant I ever ate at in Europe… maybe the world. Ambiance is different than most eateries: darker, yet quiet and relaxed. I saw comments about it being too dark — for me it was perfect. Relaxing and not too cozy.

I was very skeptical of this place due to how close it was to the Duomo. The restaurants around this area can be very hit or miss. Luckily, Zaza was not your typical tourist trap. Although pricey, the food is very good. It appears that they are known for the Bistecca Fiorentina but the pasta is actually quite good too. I highly recommend the ravioli in the truffle cream sauce. It has so much deep truffle flavor. So good!

**SOLIDPLACEFORSTEAKANDPASTA** To be honest, Trattoria Mario wasn’t open, so we came here instead. But glad we did. AMBIANCE ========= Typical Tuscan restaurant in the historic center of Florence. American-friendly and has an outdoor patio(they have heaters in the winter time). Cozy and inviting, but a bit too touristy around 7−9pm. The Italians usually dine 9pm and afterward. FOOD ===== T BONESTEAK Ordered medium rare and it came out almost rare. Good quality and perfect for 2 to share. RATING: 4.5÷5 FETTUCINEANDPORCHINIMUSHROOMS Very good pasta and unfortunately the mushrooms weren’t in season, so they used frozen mushrooms. Tasted fine. RATING: 4⁄5 DESSERT ======== TIRAMISU Solid, but not the best I’ve had. RATING: 3.5÷5 WINE ===== HOUSEREDBOTTLE(made by the restaurant) Too tart for my own personal taste. Not a fan of Chianti Classico, prefer the Reserve or Superior. RATING: 3⁄5 Dinner for 2 was under $ 100 which was reasonable. OVERALL ======== It’s not my ideal restaurant due to the tourists and everyone speaking English, but it’s definitely not bad. RECOMMEND for quick service, reasonably-priced steak and pastas. Great for large groups.

ZAZAWASAMAZING. First of all let me just say that this entire market was AWESOME. Tons of variety, lots of different food options ranging from casual snacks, to the pricier black truffle linguini with seafood. We were traveling with a group of 7; so table seating was necessary, but nearly impossible to find in the crowded market, especially during lunch hour. Luckily, Za Za saved us the trouble of elbowing people on barstools. We were seated immediately in the upstairs area and presented with menus that boasted the typical pizza and pasta dishes that made you glad that you were in potentially the best foodie city in the world. I went with the classic margherita pizza and a house beer. I devoured that pizza like there was no tomorrow. PERFECT blend of soft mozzarella(very generous serving!) and tart tomato sauce with hints of basil. The crust was thin and perfectly complementary to the robust flavors sitting on top of it. I’m basically drooling writing this review! Definitely visit Za Za if you’re in the Florence area!

Definitely a tourist hot spot with everyone within earshot speaking in English(and the waitress pushing for us to order the t-bone steak) so I can’t honestly tell if this is the real deal when it comes to Italian food, but hey, it was good food nonetheless. I’ve been dying to try gnocchi in Italy and this was finally it but I honestly preferred my fiancé’s fettuccine bolognese(the grass is always greener on the other side, as they say). I also stole a little of my mom’s pesto fettuccine as well and was in love with that but she felt it was too oily. Well, it is pesto, what can I say. Our main course, the sautéed pork in white wine sauce, was amazing. Honestly, we had ordered something on the menu, to which our waitress gave a massive frown as she informed us that the menu was wrong and they didn’t serve that. She did offer us five million other options which we were thoroughly confused by due to the slight language barrier and by the end of it, although she seemed pretty frustrated with us, I sure am glad the food turned out tasting good. Food was good but I probably won’t be back for a second visit especially with so many other eateries around. Service wasn’t unexpected so no points taken off there. The ambience was definitely very tourist-y. All in all, 3.5 stars — worth stopping by, but I wouldn’t say it’s anything worth writing home about.

We made a reservation for 8pm and got lost in the streets of florence for thirty minutes. Upon arrival we found out quickly why you want a reservation, this place was a zoo! The host honored our reservation even though we were late, which was really nice of him! After waiting about ten minutes for a table we were sat. Our server didn’t show up for another ten minutes and when he finally did, he wasn’t overly friendly. Oh well. We ordered a bottle of wine and two pasta entrees, all of which were wonderful. My only complaint was that my boar meat pasta should have been hotter. The meal was great but the atmosphere was too crazy for me and it was incredibly loud. Not a place you want to come to for a romantic dinner.

Was really looking forward to eating here due to the great reviews on Unilocal. When we arrived at 7pm people were already lining up and we were asked if we wanted to sit inside. Rather than wait we said yes. Inside looked great but we were taken to the basement(or the dungeon) where the ambience wasn’t quite as nice. When we asked if we could be seated upstairs we were told that it was only for larger parties so we stayed in the dungeon. We had a young lad serve us and he was next to useless. I ordered a bottle of Prosecco and he came back and opened a bottle of Asti Spumanti before he realized he brought down the wrong bottle. We ordered the T bone steak as we wanted to taste the Famous Florentine beef and asked it to be cooked medium and it came up rare. When we told him the meat was too rare and asked for medium he said that’s what medium looks like in Italy, but we didn’t believe him, the inside was uncooked and asked it to be cooked more. He wasn’t attentive at all and we had to catch his attention for any service. He spent most of his time at the back with another female server that he was kissing on and off. In all very disappointed with the whole experience as I was expecting to eat some good food. When we left there was an even larger line up of people waiting to be seated. I’m sure that if we had waited to be seated outside we would have had a much better experience. Whatever you do don’t go down into the dungeon !

A very good friend suggested we go here and I’m so glad I did. This place was HOPPING at lunchtime. It was full of both foreigners and Italians. If Italians are at the Italian restaurant it’s gotta be good, right? :) We didn’t have a reservation, but we were able to sit in the back of the restaurant. I’d recommend having a reservation so that you can sit outside or inside by the window. We had the lobster spaghetti and the seafood risotto. They were both delicious, but the risotto was my favorite. The stock that the risotto was cooked in was like NOTHING I’ve ever had and all risotto outside of Italy will be ruined for me!!! It was fantastic. Speedy service and the staff was really kind. I’m so glad I checked this place out!
