The only star the restaurant gets is because the food wasn’t so bad. The service however was the worst we received in Italy. 5 of us ordered 6 dishes both appetizers and main dishes. We told our server we would share everything and whatever is ready he could bring it out. Over an hour later, nothing came out. Not even a salad. We asked owner why no food has come out after over an hour. Instead of checking up, he simply deflected with he wasn’t the one taking our orders. I was fine until moment later 3 pizzas arrived at the table next to us(also a big group) and they ordered at least 20 minutes after we did. And we ordered pizza! I was angry and asked where was our pizza. The server argued that we ordered a lot of food. Wtf ?? After I told them this was ridiculous and we’re never eating here again. Behold, all of our dishes arrived. Cold!!! To top everything off, he overcharged us 6 people instead of 5 people on the bill. And he gave us a different wine than what we ordered on the menu. Stay away from this place for your own sake !!!

Horrible! I asked a pizza 4 formaggi and a glass of wine. The wine was terrible and the pizza was not that good too. But the worse came in the account. It supposed to be 10 euros, and in the account cames 14 euros! 4 euros of coperto/service fees. I asked why so much and they were very rude and didn’t answer. So I asked for the discount of the Welcome Card and they didn’t want to give me that. But I insist and they gave me only 1 euro back, with an angry face, and still asked me the hotel I am! The worse restaurant I went in 1 month of Europe!

The staff seemed nice in the beginning as the waiter was attentive in trying to help me find something that I could eat on the menu that was gluten free since I have celiac disease. However, as we proceeded to order, some of the cooks began to laugh at us although we were trying not to offend them but it was apparent, they may have been offended at my concern over getting something gluten free. I ended up ordering a piece of local fish(Orata?, I think) which was fine with the texture and flavor of trout. However, 2 of our 3 meals were served extremely cold. For the reason of not feeling welcome and cold food, I would not revisit La Tavernetta.

I spent 3 weeks in northern Italy, and this was the worst restaurant I ate at. The service was extremely slow, inattentive, and rude, and the food was just plain poor. Our group had 4 different dishes, and the consensus was a universal ‘thumbs down’. One of the group members ordered something that was mis-translated into English on the menu. It wasn’t a big deal, but when we commented to the waitress that they should correct the menu for future customers, we received an accusatory /hostile reply. This place does a dis-service to the tourism industry in the Cinque Terre region.

If you are in Cinqueterre area you should go at La Tavernetta!!! If you want to try all you need to go there a couple of time because pizza is great and the pasta amazing. They make also«Panigacci»(kind of tortilla) with the best prosciutto and stracchino.
