One thing most Italian bar-caffe’ know how to do is the«aperitivo». I don’t mean in terms of the drinks made but rather how drinks are served with little bites of be them olives, bread triangles with pâté’, prosciutto, and the like. It is similar to the tradition in Spain, you go to a bar and order, be it a glass of wine, Sangria and you are served small bites(Tapas…which in North America has turned into a food style, yet in Spain it is a perfectly NORMAL aspect of ordering a drink with which you are served a little something to enjoy with it, and yes, potentially order a second ;-) – something in North America I have YET to see). Back to the little spot my friend and I found, off of Corso Magenta, hidden in Via Terraggio(on the map it is a little elbow of a street) in Milano Vecchia(Old Milan… AWAY from the usual shopping/Duomo area). In fact, we found it on our way back from seeing DaVinci’s «Last Supper». We had a little«hole» in our stomachs and since the restaurants don’t open until 7pm, we stopped and had a glass of wine each and then they came… the yummy, easy bite size little snacks: little bowl of green olives, 6 triangles(a good size), and a little bowl of chips. It is a nice little spot to stop and get a little something if you are in this area… there are few areas in Milan that are quiet and tranquil… this is a nice one :-)
