After a long, really awful day of traveling from Paris to Frankfurt to Milan, I was hungry and exhausted. I need some kindness, an English speaking waiter, wine, and dinner. This place gave me that and more. The food!!! Oh the food! The grilled bread with he freshest most beautiful olive oil I’ve ever had and the red pepper flakes soaked in oil started me off right. The house red wine is cheap, plentiful, and good. For a starter I had the burrata followed by a white pizza with speck, fresh ricotta, and Brie. I was blown away by the goodness of this simple food. After dinner, my waiter brought over a basket of really tasty cookies and a bottle of liqueur from Abruzzo. I can’t even imagine life before this drink. It’s like eggnog in all the best ways. I didn’t get the waiter’s name but he is a kindly gentleman who walks with a slight limp– he was SOOOOO incredibly sweet to this exhausted frazzled American who does not speak Italian. I wish I lived here so I could come more often.
