Dinky

Back to the food fest :-)
Dinky’s is a place we happened upon 7 tears ago when I arrived in Milan with friends who had come to visit during my time in Italy. It is, again, not far from the Hotel Soperga. This time, I took my friend who was taken with the name more than anything else plus I remembered that the food was quite good and so was the service. This holds true for this visit as well, though I have to admit, I feel that the pizza was better at Pizzeria Bel Paese.
This evening we both ordered different antipasti of seafood. My friend the mussels in a light tomato based sauce and mine was the mixed seafood also in a light tomato based sauce. When I saw «tomato base» I mean chopped FRESH tomatoes with olive oil, white wine and a hint of garlic (in fact, the garlic clove is not chopped, but left whole so you don’t eat garlic, rather, the seafood with the aroma of the garlic… more typical than what we get in Nort America). Again, we ordered the same pizze here to compare and though they were good, the crust on the PBP was better. HOWEVER, DESSERT is another story.
Dinky’s makes in house Profiteroles filled with a light cream and covered in milk chocolate that is not too sweet… DELICIOUS :-9 For this alone, the pizza is forgiven ;-)
Again, it was very affordable, including wine… though we did order the seafood, so a bit more expensive than the evening at PBP.

Auf Empfehlung unseres neuen milanesischen Freundes, dem Barmann aus dem Silver Pub (
), kehrten wir in die Pizzeria/​Ristorante Dinky ein. Er berichtete auch selbst dort essen zu gehen.
Ohne Hinweis, wären wir sehr warscheinlich schon aufgrund des außergewöhnlichen Namens dort nicht hingegangen.
Bei Dinky wird man sehr professionell bedient. Zur Begrüßung am Tisch gibt es Grissini und ständig bekommt man neues und speisegerechtes Besteck nachgelegt.
Alles in allem muss ich allerdings sagen, dass mir persönlich, wie in so manchem Mailänder Lokal, die Herzlichkeit und Gefühl willkommen zu sein, fehlte.
Sehr originell war das Antipasti-​Buffet, dass ufoähnlich in der Mitte des sehr geräumigen Lokales thront. Eine riesige Glaskuppel, die sich vollautomatisch öffnet, schützt und kühlt die Vorspeisen. Je nach Größe der Vorspeise zahlt man 8 – 12 EUR.
Der Hauswein war leider gar nicht nach unserem Geschmack. Sehr sauer und er prikelte sogar etwas. Meine Nudeln mit Muscheln waren tatsächlich nur Nudel mit Muscheln und viel Salz.
Ich muss davon ausgehen, dass es unser oben erwähnter Barmann gut mit uns meinte, aber leider nicht bedacht hat, dass man als Tourist eventuell nicht so gut speist, wie als Einheimischer.
