We really weren’t that hungry but wanted some«authentic» Italian pizza. Found this place near our hotel with mixed Unilocal review but we decided to give it a try anyway. The restaurant was empty except one other table with a single diner. The pizzas were pretty large and a prosciutto pizza was only 8 euros. That would have been enough for the 3 of us(2 adults, 1 child) but since the place was so empty, we felt bad ordering only 1 pizza so we ordered a 2nd margherita pizza for 5 euros and planned to give it to the group of homeless persons gathered outside the restaurant. The pizza itself was ok. Not great, not bad, just ok. A cheese or margherita pizza for 5 euros is a great deal. BUT…we had a surprise on our check. We had already learned that restaurants in Italy only serve bottled water and that was fine. 3 euros for 2 bottled waters and 3 euros for 1 Diet Coke… uh Coke Light. The surprise was a 6 euro«coperto» charge on the bill(2 euros per person) Apparently, this is an additional service charge per person. We’ve eaten at several restaurants during our trip and this was the first one to add an additional service charge. Maybe it wouldn’t have been so bad had they notified us in advance via a sign on the door or notation on the menu. Had I known about the service fee, I wouldn’t have felt the need to order the 2nd pizza. In total, the pizza we ate, the pizza we gave away, 2 bottled waters, and 1 Coke Light cost 24 euros. Not horrible but considering we walked in for a 5 euro pizza, 24 was a bit steeper than we expected. At least the homeless persons got a decent warm pizza.

Conclusion? Cf. Mots clefs du dessus. Je recommande.

First time in Italy and trying to find something open at noon on a Saturday turned out to be more difficult than I had thought. This place was open and pretty busy so I stopped in surprised that a whole pizza could go for 5 euro. It was very big indeed and was a good introduction to pizza here although I will admit I am no expert but for 5 euro it was definitely a great deal. Everything was clean, staff was quick and efficient. Not much small talk but I was exhausted from running around the town. However any time I asked for help they were quick to respond so don’t be shy! Great deal would recommend if you are in a hurry or need some cheap and good.

AWFUL. From start to finish. We don’t speak Italian. Sorry. We know this is annoying and we appreciate so much people who take the time and energy to put up with us. The waiter spoke to us in Italian and we let him know we didn’t understand. So he YELLED at us «what do you want to eat?» We should have left then. Food arrived, NO bread ever came, NO parmesan cheese, NOMORESERVICE. This is the first time in my life I did NOT leave any kind of tip. On the bright side, food was ok.
