Don’t go to this restaurant — just so-​so food and they cheap on the customers. :((
Here is what happened to us: we asked the waiter for an egg plant dish with some pasta. The food was okay. However, when we get the bill, we find a 12 euro charge for that egg plant appetizer, which was crazy considering main dishes are just around 6 euro here. It turned out that egg plant dish is out of the menu (but a super common dish in Italy). So they just made up a crazy number for an tiny appetizer without even informing us anything.
There are plenty of nice restaurant along the canal. Why would you go for some sneaky one like this!

At this restaurant by the canal, you will find delicious, straightforward pizza and pasta, nothing too fancy or surprising. In the evening, the patio is inviting for locals and tourists alike. The portions are fairly generous; I stuffed myself, had a drink and dessert for under 15 Euro. The focaccia was so-​so, but the pasta Arrabbiata was fantastic, and the crema catalana I had for dessert was to die for. The wait staff may not speak fluent English, but you can ask for an English menu, and they try to be helpful. If I am ever in Milan again, I will make a point to eat here again, and will bring a friend.
