This is a great place to eat some authentic Italian food. On a Saturday just before 8pm we got the last 2 person table. We were surrounded by locals(a good sign) and began with a good and cheap house wine. We had more than enough food with a pizza, risotto, and spaghetti with mixed seafood(this dish alone feeds 2 – 3 people). Great dinner. Great place. Would definitely recommend.

My first mission that needed to be accomplished as soon as I got to Milan was finding some amazing pizza, and I definitely succeeded. I heard about Maruzzella through a magazine article and decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint. The minute my husband and I walked in, we felt like we were transported back in time. The décor was warm and inviting, and the waiters were the sweetest Italian men I have ever met. With big smiles on their face, they quickly took us to our table. The place was packed so we knew it was going to be good. We started with the prosciutto and melon. The melon was juicy and sweet and the prosciutto was the perfect amount of salty, savory goodness. The risotto Milanese came out next and that was tasty as well. The star of the night, was the pizza. I ordered the Margherita pizza and it was AMAZING. The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside and deliciously soft on the inside. The mozzarella was fresh and bubbly, with just the right amount of basil and Italian herbs. If I could take this pizza back to the states with me, I would in a heartbeat. Not only is the food fabulous, but the service was top notch and I can’t wait to go back!

Went there last Friday, it was busy but we got a table after waiting for approx 20 mins. The wait was worth it. We had pizzas, a jar of the house wine and a tiramisu, everything was great and the price was reasonable.

Good pizza. The locals recommended this place and suggested the«simpler pizza the better tasting». So I got magherrita and it was tasty. Good value. EU5 for a 12″. Good value.

It’s been voted one of the best pizza spots in Milan. Totally lived up to the hype. You do have to wait if you go at peak hours, so if you’re apposed to waiting while they give you complimentary prosecco, then go earlier than 7 pm. I had the pizza margarita and it will hence forth be the bar by which all pizza is measured. The atmosphere and the price are killer — inexpensive for the good quality and no pomp and circumstance. Great service as well.

If you go during peak hours, be prepared to wait. Unfortunately, there is no real system to track who is in line first so you’re at the mercy of the staff at the door. We waited almost an hour and it seemed like people who showed up after us were seated first. However, we were on vacation, it was our last night in Italy and we just wanted to be good sports about what we were told would be our best meal in Milan. Thank goodness we waited, because not only was it the best meal we had in Milan, it was genuinely the best meal we had in Italy. We ordered a buffalo margherita pizza for our appetizer and then I ordered the Mushroom Risotto and my husband ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese. The pizza was amazing. We could tell how high quality the cheese was because of the texture and flavor. From the crust to the sauce, everything about Maruzzella’s pizza was perfection. Even the pasta dishes we ordered were perfection. The pasta was cooked al dente, seasoned how we like it and the bursting with flavor. The ingredients were simple but the dishes was able to shine because of how well they were executed. I must say that the service in the restaurant was great. We got what we needed in a timely fashion though the servers were running around like mad men because it was so busy. Our food came out quickly and was piping hot. The disorganization at the door was more than made up for by how good our meal was and the service by our waiter. I would highly recommend that anyone visiting Milan suck up the terrible door service for what is surely a meal to remember.

Recent business trip to Milan and I was traveling solo — needed a place for dinner and didn’t know where to start. A quick search for pizza on Unilocal brought me here and I was thrilled. As an American, I have a natural love for pizza. But as an American, I also grew up on pizza which is defined in a different way than in its native Italy. However, while I love St. Louis, New York, and even thick crust pizza loaded with toppings, this is the best pizza I have ever had. I ordered the classic diavola pizza, but made sure to add buffalo cheese. This is a must. The result was a classic pizza but with high quality ingredients and cooked to perfection in their authentic Italian pizza oven. The taste was pure and I panicked when half way through I hit a wall — but not to fear; I got a second wind and soldiered on! I made sure to add a carafe of the house white wine, which was superb for being a house, and I finished off with an excellent tiramisu. Would highly recommend to any traveller. Warning: the restaurant often has a line and rather than keeping a wait list they seat people based on memory. This is maddening for an American used to order. However, the proprietor Armando lords over the waiting crowd and handed out free wine during my wait. While I doubted his ability to keep everyone straight in his head, I was promised a 20 minute wait and I was seated in 25. Don’t let the disorder discourage you!

The ambience was nice. The foods(pizza and spagetti) were very salty and overly expensive for what you got. The waiters were nice, but the seat distributor(manager?) was absolutely terrible.

Ansonsten findet man bessere Pizza in anderen Lokalen.

It has been along time since I have seen such a selection done at the entrance. They aren’t writing names of people waiting and they go by memory/selection. Girls coming in and speaking with the waiter get seated immediately. We ended up waiting for 45 minutes, asking a few times what’s happening, seeing many people who came after us be seated, then we left. Didn’t make us feel great.

Very good pizza, reasonable price. I asked for a diavola and I don’t regret it. We also ordered a mixed salad and it was ok. The tiramisu is very very good. I really recommend this place.

Pizza is thin crust with fresh ingredients. My seafood pasta is good too but a bit too much mussels though they r fresh. You won’t go wrong with pizza I think.

We walked a half mile to enjoy this place. We were told there would be a 15 minute wait. Half hour later, still waiting. They sat locals before they sat us. Or, it could be because we are Asian. After a little argument, we walked out.

We love it here, been back over and over because their pizzas are so good and their pastas are cheap and so tasty. The owner/host is always so nice and his staff is great, especially the waiter who is(was?) a wrestler! We had the ragu which is very good but we lovedddd the arrabbiata. The cream sauce with porcini is good w the tagliatelle and the margherita pizza is only € 5! The crust is the perfect combo of chewy yet crunchy. We see lots of locals and tourists/foreigners line up here every day but if you get there right when they open, the big restaurant can accommodate you. There is outdoor seating as well and the restaurant is easily accessible on the 9 tram(directly from Milano Centrale even) and drops you off right across the street!

The food was excellent and our waiter so charming! Overall great service. Following the reviews, we showed up at the restaurant at 6:45pm and got a table without a problem – we were one of the earliest ones there but by the end of our meal, we didn’t see anyone waiting for tables and the restaurant wasn’t at full capacity. It was a Friday in Milan, so perhaps people were elsewhere. The tagliatelle bolognaise was wonderful, as well as the grilled seafood mix platter.

Gute Pizza, leider trotz Reservierung lange Wartezeit(20min), Essen gut, aber fraglich ob man deswegen wirklich so lange warten mag. Service ok, gestresste Kellner, da eben sehr gut besucht!

It was fine — good but certainly NOT great. Not sure why these people on Unilocal are raving about it… Service was slow and aloof. My pasta was fine — nothing more. Yes, very crowded here and they charge a cover charge. HA! I found that hilarious — not a big deal because the prices are very reasonable. Still if there is a line, you could really just go somewhere else and you wouldn’t be missing much.

Fun, friendly, classic Italian restaurant. Pasta galore, and awesome risotto are yours to be had. Seating is a little tight, so get there @ 7 to get a good seat: empty @ 7, crowded by 8. Loved the panacotti, risotto with sea-food, and proscuitto with melon.

If you want to skip the crowd, come at 7 or earlier. 3 friends and I came here on a Saturday night for our last dinner in Italy. We were seated immediately but about 15 minutes later, the place started getting packed. To start, they give you tiny, fluffy, warm pillows of pita(?), along with olives, all drizzled in olive oil. To drink, I had the house red wine. In my past experiences from ordering the house wine at restaurants throughout Italy(and when I say past experiences, I really mean past week), they were pretty good. But I wash’t a fan of Maruzzella’s. It tasted sour. So try to avoid their house wine — or stick with a beer. For my entrée, I went with the chicken Milanese. It was good, but nothing spectacular. It didn’t taste like anything I couldn’t get in NYC. Or maybe I just had really high hopes for eating chicken Milanese IN Milan. I also might have mooched a slice of the pizza margherita off of my friend’s plate. It was pretty good!(and for 5 Euros, it was practically a steal) Looking back, if I were to choose between the pizza and the chicken, I would choose the pizza in a heartbeat. To top it all off, we shared the panna cotta. It was my first time trying panna cotta so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. And since I have nothing else to base it on, I can say that I liked it. I was kind of disappointed by the chicken and the wine but everything else was great. Might be the perfect place for a pizza and a beer!

Easily one of the best pizza places in Porta Venezia. It is located in a highly strategic spot, very close both to the Tram N.9 and the Metro Line 1(Red). Therefore it can be reached quite easily by using public transports. The pizza is great, can’t wait to go back to this place. This is how you make pizza goddamnit! If you are planning to dine here you might wanna make a reservation because there is almost always a line(especially during weekends). I went there to order just a take-away pizza with prosciutto and I ended up waiting for quite a while because of the line. The place inside looks nice and you can also have the pleasure to observe the cook while he makes your pizza from over the counter. The oven is a real pizza-over, properly powered with wood(how it should be!). Ingredients are good and high-quality. Looking forward to go back to this place!

I have searched so many places to eat good pizza in Milano and finally found this place! One of the best pizza in Milano as well as the pastas. Generally local people are there and its not a touristic place! The prices are very very reasonable and two person can eat around 30 – 35 euros.
