Let me start by saying that, though this restaurant is within walking distance from my house, i have only recently set foot in it(with a bunch of Unilocal aficionados). The location is slightly off the beaten path and within close proximity of the Japanese School(of Via Arzaga) of Milan. Once you enter the redraurant, you are welcomed by quite a collection of mangas and Japanese knick knacks. Following your waiter, you are seated to you table and given a menu that resembles more like a Michelin guide than the average menu. I ought to admit that, every time i see a menu that goes of for more than a few pages, i get overwhelmed, intimidated and, after a little while, a bit annoyed. I appreciate the thoroughness of the menu. The fact that almost ALL the plates are followed by a pictorial tutorial as well as a minimal explanation. I wanted to try the fatty tuna but could not decide which combo to choose which meant i ended up NOT getting it. Though, undoubtedly, the fish is extremely fresh and the quality of the ingredients is way above the average standard offered in Milan, i find it a bit on the expensive and the tiny portion side. I also have to agree with my fellow dinner companions. Though the sushi was impeccable and fairly prompt in being delivered, those who opted for cooked dishes had to either wait quite a bit or solicit repeatedly. I would totally recommend to those who want to have a true japanese restaurant experience, though i must warn the price tag will NOT be for the faint of hearts.

Rating des Ortes: 5 Milan, Italy
One of the best traditional Japanese restaurant in Milan. You could find even the okonomiyaki.
