Apparently this restaurant is highly recommended to a lot of tourists and I ended up going here the second night I was in Milan for vacation. The staff speaks a fair amount of English and the service was good. For my first I had their Tortellini and for my second I had their Lamb Leg. The best part was the Lamb Leg. It was quite filling and was well cooked. The meat tore off nicely as I was cutting it with my knife and fork. I also had their Tiramisu which was better than the one that I had later on in Venice. I still compare it with the tiramisu that I had back in Seattle from an authentic Italian restaurant and I still hold that in high regard. This one here was a close one, but still couldn’t beat what I had in Seattle. I also had a glass of their 2013 Alas Legeder red wine. My experience overall was quite good. I enjoyed the food and the service was decent. I do appreciate that there wasn’t any communication barriers which made ordering easier and made the night easier to enjoy.

This restaurant was highly recommended by our airbnb host and I’m so glad we gave it a go. We weren’t very hungry, so we decided to split a first course(gorgonzola ravioli with potatoes), a second course(lamb with roasted potatoes), a side(roasted vegetables with marinara), and dessert(tiramisu). Our food was simple, well-seasoned, and delightful. The gorgonzola was rich, the pasta covering it light. The lamb was so well-cooked that it simply fell off the bone. And the tiramisu was fresh and comforting. Also, defying traditions, we got a nice pilsner to sip on instead of wine, which went refreshingly well with everything. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a cosy, delicious meal if you’re in the Isola area.

Osteria dei Vecchi Sapori was already recommended to me sometime before I arrived in Milan. Once i got into the restaurant, the place was crowded and yet, the treatment was impecable. Thumbs up to the staff which has a good mood and is thoughtful. The starter was a polenta tarangna with lardo on top. Very tasty and good to enhance the appetite. The main course for me was a huge(!) angus steak with roasted potatoes(seasoned with rosemaries). I was able to take a bite on the steak tartare with sliced truffles as well. Soft, tasty and well decorated dish(i highly recommend it!). The crew is so mindful that they changed our coffees after they though it could be better served. To conclude my review, the wine menu has plenty of options. Our choice was the Morellino di Scansano, which has a fair price and good quality. 5 stars to this beautiful restaurant.
