Very good japanese restaurant. We were craving japanese food after days of pastas and this place was very authentic. One thing was that the wagyu turned out to be much smaller portion than we though.

I love this restaurant! I believe that everyone who comes to this restaurant would fall in love with its atmosphere, taste of sushi and ITACHO(Sushi Chef)‘s character. I spoke with a few people at this restaurant and everybody said that the this restaurant is truly the best in Milan. All the sushi lover must try when visiting Milan. You will find that the sushi is not just made from raw fish but love. \(^o^)/ Peace!

Real Japanese restaurant in Milano. NOT a Japanese restaurant by Chinese. very rare to see a Japanese resto in this town with Chinese ppl running the business — which means this place is LEGIT. Best Japanese food you’ll get in the city. They have great small plates, sushi, and udon noodle soups. I will have to come back and try the shabu and sukiyaki! +Friendly staff! yay Poporoya :)

Sushi in total Italian & Trattoria style. Never tough these items could have matched. It works perfectly. You have to make a long line in front of the entrance, inside is crowded noisy but really worths. The food is amazing and the first time in Milan it taste really Japanese. Great quality on a humble price. The personnel is really nice and friendly, speak both Languages.

Ladies & gentlemen I introduce you the true, one & only real deal of sushi in Milan. Watch out where you go exactly, for me the best place is the«Alimentari». It’s recommended to be there with time since there’s people in line to get a table(and yes, this is a good sign, because the sushi is just amazing). You’ll wait for your table, but not for long, the service seems to be fast and effective, however some of the waitress there don’t have the best smile on their faces. The point here it’s the food, so yes, if you’re wondering about the quality and the taste, that’s a full: 100% true japanese sushi. If you are already there, take a look at the desserts, you will not regret of having«dolce» at the end of your dinner. The beer selection is not their best, but it makes its job during your lunch/dinner time. The price is good for what you get(you’ll see when you get there! for real!) and I’m quite sure you’ll be wanting to go back.

Yes, it is the real deal. I was in this place once, 16 years ago, in 1998. Writing review only now because a friend currently living in Milano prompted me for authentic Japanese place to eat. I immediately remembered this place as this happened to be where my Japanese friend introduced me to Japanese food in 1998. The only problem was — I didn’t remember the name of the place, address, nothing. Just knew it was in Milano, and it was hole-in-the-wall kind of place, and I remembered the interior arrangement. So, I went to Unilocal and the first result for Japanese food in Milano — is the place I’m looking for!!! Checked the interior pictures on Poporoya’s website — yep, that’s the place. Food was awesome in 1998 — I’m huge fan of Japanese cuisine ever since, and I’m glad to see it’s still great now, 16 years later. Thanks, Poporoya!

Best Japanese in town. Go here if you’re fed up of Milanese ‘cool sushi’ places that are expensive and everything but authentic. Poporoya is a tiny place(less than 10 tables) and takes no reservations but it’s so worth the wait. Best chirashi ever! And prices are not bad considering the quality of the preparation and the freshness of the ingredients. If you’re really hungry and there’s a big line at Poporoya or if you’re a large group, try Shiro, on the other side of the street, same owners, same quality but prices a tiny bit higher since it does take reservations and has more space.

The real deal. This is an authentic Japanese! Best sushi in Milano. Set in a little Japanese import shop. You cannot reserve, show up with your order ready, order wait to be seated, and then eat fast. It’s worth it. If you want sit down of the same quality walk to the place across the street, but be prepared to pay more.
