DELICIOUS! The best part of being in Italy is to get to have a lot of gelato. This gelateria has one of the best ice-creams I have ever had in Milan. Pistachio flavor is absolutely my favorite one and I usually mix it with dark chocolate. The taste of gelato is very rich, and creamy. This taste is in fact what I miss whenever I am away from Italy.

We’ve had THEBEST hot chocolate drink from Rivareno. It was so rich/tasty and oh so delicious. We also had their crepes and gelato – best gelato we’ve had in Milan. I think it’s actually better than Latteneve.

Best Gelato in Milan — hands down! They have a great variety of special flavours as well as classics like cioccolato or nioccola. I would reccommend Alice or New York New York as they are unique and can’t be found anywhere else. Their gelato is smooth, creamy and cheap! Make sure they give you the chocolate sauce or jam at the bottom of your cup or cone — it’s delightful!

This was our fifth stop for gelato in our three days in Milan. This place is more of a 4.5, but I’ll round up :) Adam’s friend who lived here for 4 years said this was his favorite place for gelato in Milan. I knew we had to try it. From our first four experiences, we had found that our personal preference was in the cup instead of the cone. We opted for the medium cup which came with two flavors(€ 3, ~$ 4). The gentleman behind the counter was nice enough to let us try some of the gelato flavors. Unfortunately, I found some of them way too sweet or rich for my taste. I went with pistachio and Alice. Alice was one of the Rivareno speciality flavors and consisted of hazelnut and mascarpone. This was definitely the lightest gelato we had during our whole trip. The consistency was perfect. Don’t know if it is the use of less cream, more air beat in or just magic but we both LOVED the lightness of the gelato. It was evident that the ingredients used were high quality and the pistachio had a lovely saltiness that I really enjoyed. It’s really hard to say whether I enjoyed Rivareno or Cioccolati Italiani more. I loved the lightness of the gelato at Rivareno. The taste of Rivareno’s pistachio was my favorite of all the places we went but I really enjoyed that at Cioccolati Italiani there were pieces of pistachio. Such a coin toss between the two but they are both amazing. Go to both and make your own decision!

Great ice creams and a huge selection. Ps. 2,5 € for a small cone with two tastes.

This is a special place where they put chocolate sauce in the bottom of the cone if you take dairy ice-cream. The selection is huge and the tastes are great. Small cone with 2 tastes costs € 2,50 Medium cone with 2 tastes costs € 3.

Smooth, flavorful gelato. The«contessa» flavor is particularly good. Yet after trying pistacchio, baccio, contessa, and marrons glacés — the last three of which are packed with nuts and candied chestnuts, respectively — I find that the taste does not seem to resonate in the way the taste of truly phenomenal food will. In short, Rivareno is satisfying and unique, but still not the best.

Rivareno is one of my favourite places for ice cream in Milan. Their flavors are delicious and amazingly sophisticated, so it’s particularly good to bring for a dinner with friends. Two small drawbacks: the choice is wide but not as much as other stores, and if you are looking for some very basic flavors, Rivareno might not be the place for you, even if it’s worth a try in any case.

update: I have to take their quality down a notch. They have stores all over Milan now, but the quality control is there. Their pistacchio and nocciola are perfect. Their pine nut flavor is excellent. Their chocolate doesn’t quite hit the level of Chocolat or Officine del Gelato. The only drawback is their cones, which they deliberately make flavorless so as not to distract from the gelato.
