After a year of wondering when this place was opening we finally had dinner here and it was well worth the wait. Normally I give general reviews after a second visit but I’ll just tell you about my evening. The service was outstanding! As a former hospitality manager of a fine dining restaurant in the US, it’s rare in Italy(or almost anywhere) for service to impress me. They have a large restaurant divided into sections on two floors… The partial sub basement level is a sushi bar and lounge with round booths, and the bar has plush super comfortable slightly reclining chairs. The«ground» floor is risen and has a teriyaki/grill open kitchen with tables better for accommodating small groups and I believe a couple booths. Outside at the entrance up a few stairs is a large open industrial covered terrace with an outdoor bar and large living green wall. They have aperitifs there until 8 I believe. It’s gorgeous and we can’t wait to try their tasty sounding cocktail list. They also have a few tables at the outdoor entrance on the sidewalk by the hostess stand.(Handicap accessible) When we called 10 mins ahead for a table, we asked how the Mosquitos were and they were refreshingly honest to say it was pretty bad outside. So we opted for the sushi bar. Admittedly my bf and I were having a bit of en emotional conversation and the hostess politely found us their most private discreet table rather than the well lit bar. The waiter offered to speak in English and got us water right away and then gave us some space while we finished talking. We ordered salmon tartar with caviar, sashimi assortment, and king crab tempura roll.(We weren’t starving after the talk.) And a bottle of prosecco. The tartar was divine with hints of onion and Japanese basil and needed nothing added. They didn’t have our prosecco so the waiter brought us one of similar taste but better quality and charged us the lessor price of our first one. We never had to refill the wine ourselves. The sashimi tasting was fresh, delicious and generous. Each fish was paired with something so for example the shrimp came with lime wedge, the salmon with thin lemon slices, the sea bass with large Japanese basil, etc. The tempura crab roll was also large and yummy. We had the chocolate dessert(I don’t remember their cutesy name for it.) It was small but rich with layers of chocolate cake, chocolate mouse, and chocolate icing with a side of passion fruit sorbet. The price was € 107 for everything including cover. I felt we got what we paid for. Can’t afford to go every week but the atmosphere, food, service, wine was all excellent. I never even felt any of the staff judging me for crying in public, so I have to give them serious props for their level of professionalism!
