Amazing place. The interiors. The staff the food. The people. Had one of the best experiences ever in here. That’s right because this place is not about having food, but rather about having a unique experience. The owner Ale, is very friendly and super funny. Extremely welcoming as well. He never crosses the thin line between benign funny/nice and being a bit too over the top. The food is great, all flavors from the south of Italy, dishes made with passion(although some dishes are a bit steep like almost twenty bucks for a bruschetta). But probably for the first time ever, I didn’t look that much into the food because the atmosphere of The Small is so warm and nice that you forget that you are there eating and you instead think you are amongst friends. «Passion and harmony»: that’s what Ale, the owner, says are his two main values when working at the small. You will like the incredibly colored and peculiar décor, the objects and the painting inside; you will also like the food and, most importantly, you will probably like the people too. Keep up the good work @thesmall !!

I have been to many great restaurants and lots of Michelin star restaurants in the US as well as in Europe. Most of them with famous chefs such as Gordon Ramsay, Geoffrey Zakarian and Jamie Oliver, Stephen Pyles, etc. Nothing has compared to The Small. It was AMAZING!!! Not because it was the best food, even though it was, but because of Alessandro and his staff really cared about our experiences there and everyone one else’s. Atmosphere of the restaurant was very warm and welcoming. We arrived there at 9:30 and the place was packed with local Trendy Milan residents. Despite being completely full, when we said we were from Dallas, TX and it was out last night there this very nice gentleman said he would try to get us a table. Within 5 minutes we were seated at beautiful candle lit table and hand menus. The menu was only in Italian so he offered to create a custom meal for us. During this time he was getting our order we found out he was Alessando, and it was his restaurant.(There are amazing reviews on line of The Small and about the customer service). He for sure really cares and it shows. We started with a nice champagne Aperitivo followed by two antipasto(Stracciatella and Caponata). We then shared a Primo(Tagliolino ai Funghi Porcini) a Secondo(Ossobuco) and concluded with a fabulous Dolce(Amaretto Tiramisu). Throughout the dinner we had a wonderful bottle of vino — Tellus Chardonnay. Each course they changed out our plates to different eclectic ones that went with the atmosphere of the restaurant. When we were finished to leave he was outside in front of the restaurant and gave us a traditional Italian Kiss on each cheek goodbye. If I lived there I would spend every special occasion there for sure and just go there for dinner weekly even. This place is for sure a great example of an amazing restaurant and more owners and famous chefs should follow in his footsteps. Alessandro and his restaurant are the best thing going in Milan!

It’s been awhile since I went for dinner but it’s one of my favorite restaurants in Milano. The owners are so sweet and funny, the food is amazing, and the atmosphere is breath taking. Every where you look there is something beautiful or interesting to see. I highly recommend splurging for a dinner here for a special night out.

I love The small! Excellent tortelloni, the Sicilian wine was amazing. Alessandro provided top notch service. Stay for dessert and the ambiance!(It is a small restaurant, so if you have more than two, it’s best to make a reservation)
