Had lunch here today. Loved it. Greg K sums it up perfectly to be honest. Would definitely recommend this place.

If you are ever in Milan, this is a great place to try. 1. This is home style italian comfort food specializing in Milanese cooking. 2. Location is 5 star, or Corso Magenta near to the church where the Last Supper Painting is located! 3. Ambiance — Awesome, small restaurant that can seat perhaps 50 guests or so. Family style, with most not speaking too much english except for the former Rugby playing son. 5 star. 4. Menu — Daily menu is handwritten on a blank piece of paper and there is like two copies and you share it with other diners. It is handwritten in italian, so it is definitely a challenge for you non italian speaking peeps(like me). However, it is an awesome menu — 5 star 5. The food — So, Milanese Comfort food: a. The Antipasto starters are fresh prosciutto, parma, other cuts of meat that are so tasty and fresh. Eggplant cooked in a lightly sauté, Some kind of root vegetable that is so tasty, I cannot tell you all the names of the Antipasto, because we were fumbling for the translations and so they brought us a bunch of them. Absolutely fantastic. 5 star. b. Pasta– Had the Risotto al Persico — Risotto with Perch that was fantastic, light, so easy to NOTSHARE. The perch was very tender. c. Cassola — This is a Milanese Cassarole of Pork and pork hock that is stewed in a cabbage like vegetable. It is simply amazing. The meat is tender and falls off the bones. This is a two to three serving dish. Very rich, a lot of fat due to the tender cooking of the pork and skin. IT is absolutely amazing. 5 star. d. Beef Stew — I did not remember how to call this dish in italian, but it was amazing as well. A chunk of beef simmered like forever it was so tender and naturally tasty.5 star Overall, we had other pasta and other appetizers, yet it was all just brought out that I cannot recall the names. I am a huge fan of stews and casseroles where the natural flavors of the food are brought out. Nothing special, not special complicated sauces, just good olé home cooking. Great place, awesome food, nice english speaking rugby playing son, and a family affair that is most fantastic. To me, worth the visit!
