A MUST-STOP for all visitors of Napoli and all lovers of pizza. We dined here late evening around 9:30 pm, and while it appears there are long lines outside, go straight inside and have your name added. We waited about 45 minutes and were seated at the bar. By the rave reviews on Unilocal,we were very excited to try this place out. I got the pesto pizza«Nonna Carolina» and my husband went for the classic Margherita. There was no secret behind it — the pizzas were phenomenal because of the perfection of the simple ingredients that define pizza. No decadent flavors or stuffed crusts, just pure simplicity. Fresh tangy tomato sauce, perfectly melted cheese, with a delightfully soft crust are all the ingredients Sorbillo’s needs to make magic.

Marguerita Pizza was good but not amazing. I’ve had better pizzas in Rome with actually toppings on it. The atmosphere was really bright and sterile like a big chain… really didn’t like that.

First, let me explain the Sorbillo situation on the street. There are three restaurants all together. There is the big one, which appears in most of the pictures here. There’s a very small fast food-style one in the middle that offers a limited menu. Then there’s the medium one at the end, on a corner, that just does pizza. I was at the pizza-only one(the menu from that one is in the pictures here too.) I was told that this particular part was the place to get gluten free. So, the doors opened at 12:30 and we were there around 12. We decided to walk around a bit and come back, and when we arrived back at about 12:20 there was a massive queue. Not a nice orderly queue like in the UK, more of a confusing mob. We joined it and waited. We were lucky and got in during the first wave of diners being seated. My partner and I, famished at this point, each selected a pizza. He’s vegetarian but not gluten free, so he opted for one that had fried eggplant on it(regular, gluten base.) I went for the gluten free base with ham, provolone, mushrooms and cream. They were cranking out pizzas at an impressive rate, though we were late to get our order in, so we waited about 10 – 15 minutes for our pies. Totally reasonable in a completely packed room. When they finally arrived, we were both really happy. It’s one of the best gluten free pizzas I’ve ever had. I couldn’t ask, but I would guess that the crust had a fair amount of tapioca starch, as it had a nice, chewy texture to it. My partner also really enjoyed his pizza and agreed it was one of the best he’d had. We spent three days in Italy and this was the best meal we had! For two pizzas, the 1.5 € gluten free supplement and two Cokes we spent 21 €. Totally reasonable. As others mentioned, they do kind of rush you through. There are as many tables as they could cram into the small space, so expect to be really close to your neighbors, too. When we left the queue was even longer than when we’d arrived, and it seemed like this was normal. I can understand the rushing!

Long wait but made better with caffe next door. With wine in hand, people watching was glorious. Ambience was as expected, exciting and fun. Had to try the staple margarita pizza and one with pesto. Pizza was unreal. Could have maybe had another one. Service was pretty good which is saying a lot around here. Would love to work my way through the menu some day. All in all the place lived up to all the hype. A definite must do when in Naples or even nearby.

I had the pleasure of eating here in December 2015. My Italian cousins told me it was the best pizza in all of Naples. We queued for more than an hour to get a table. Now what I will say is this, the place is small and loud, and as I said earlier, you will wait to get in. My biggest gripe is that they rush you. We were hardly at the table when they asked for our order! I was trying to decipher the menu to make my choice. Sadly, I felt so rushed, I ordered the wrong pizza! What I wanted had Parma ham, what I got had nothing but ricotta and mozzarella with sauce. While it was good, I felt it was not worth the wait. I’d like to go back and try again.

Not too bad. It was a 40 minute wait– not sure it was worth it. However it does taste fresh. It’s not a thin and crispy pizza, quite soggy actually. We have had better in other parts of Italy. It’s a spot where you’ll find lots of locals. It’s about a mile from the port and about a 15 minute walk; kind of in a sketchy area. Beware of luck pocketers. I don’t think we will come back.

When in Naples, you have to try the best pizza in Italy right? Every Italian that we talked to said to come here. We weren’t even going to let my wife’s cold get in the way. So we ended up getting take out. It’s located smack dab in the center of the old city center. We arrived at 7:30 and the restaurant was half full already. The host sent me up to the cashier and I promptly put in my order for the ariadne(mushroom) and a margherita speciale. The pizzas came out about 15 min later. Unfortunately, I had to walk back to my hotel which took 20 min so by that time the pizzas were room temperature. But they were still so good! The cheese was amazing; sauce was great and the crust was tender. If it had been hot, it probably would have been that much more amazing. So my reco would be to arrive before 8 when it get super crowded and get a nice hot pizza.

It is said as the most famous pizzeria in Naples. Pizzas are indeed tasty. The long queue up is really annoying, it can take hours. They don’t take reservation. The stuff weren’t as friendly as other places we went in Naples. Maybe because of rush.

For starters … We couldn’t be happier with our lunch choice! More than worth the 3 mile walk. Initially we thought the crowd of people outside were all in line to get in so it’s somewhat confusing, but everyone is just on a waitlist waiting to be called. We ordered the margherita extra and the rippieno aperto and amazing doesn’t begin to describe this pizza. Great food aside, it came out incredibly fast and the low price of our check blew me away — € 17 for 2 pizzas with plenty of leftovers and 2 beers. If we ever make it back to Italy returning here is non-negotiable!

The best meal I’ve ever had? It’s quite possible. As others have covered, you must walk through a line of people outside that ‘seem’ to be waiting in line, but they are actually waiting for their name to be called. The hostess doesn’t really speak any English, so if you don’t speak Italian, make sure you know the Italian word for the number of people in your party. Also, have a vaguely Italian sounding name — I told her my name multiple times and she ended up asking me to write it down because she didn’t understand. Then they said ‘Ricky’ because my handwriting sucks and probably looked like Rikey. But I digress– just come here, order the doppio mozzarella and enjoy the ride of your taste buds’ ascension to heaven. It isn’t just a meal, it is truly an experience. And at the end, when you have had two pizzas that would count as a large at an American chain and split a bottle of wine, you can marvel that the meal only cost you 20 euro. Service is quick and friendly, and there isn’t the sometimes prevalent poor treatment of tourists, at least in my experience. I went once and didn’t think anything could compare. That was until I went again 3 days later. It is seriously worth going to Naples JUST to eat here. This place is incredible and I can die happy knowing that I ate it.

Our hotel recommended we walked over to Sorbillo for the«best pizza in Naples.» We walked over shortly before noon and it was packed so we put our name down on the list with the woman at the door and waited about 20 minutes before we were sat. People were saying that later you go, you can wait for hours– that’s crazy! Wait that long however and that’s enough time to look over the menu and know what you want. It’s pretty hard to get a hold of your waiter so when he comes over be sure to know what you want because they are not the most patient or friendly and when they come to your table, they’re gone before you blink. So service is pretty bad or would otherwise bump my rating up to excellent. One thing that grossed me out: we asked a waiter for a to go box and he picked up the pizza with his BAREHANDS and threw it in the box. I’d hope his hands were clean but EW, kind of gross. Needless to say, we did not eat the pizza because of this. Our party of seven ordered 7 pies because we wanted to try a bunch. Definitely go for the traditional pizza margherita infamous for originating in Naples and go for the DOGC certified ingredients. Mozzerella di Bufala is delicious and so good. We also had the prosciutto and arugula topped pizza and the pizza with spicy peppers(Naples loves their spicy). Excellent pizza but the traditional pizza margherita with mozzarella di bufala was my favorite! If you are not familiar with Naples pizza, know that it’s a flat crust and the center is pretty doughy/wet and if you add mozzarella di bufala, pizza will be even more wet. If this is not your preference you probably won’t see what all the buzz is about. We enjoyed tasting pizza in different regions in Italy and thought the pizza at Sorbillo was so good that we ate it up before any camera came out to take a picture. Good spot for some cheap eats!

Good pizza but not worth the 1,5 hour wait if you don’t arrive before 8pm. We tried four different kinds but the one with gorgonzola and salami were the best. The standard is really high on pizza in napels, so with the wait for a table it doesn’t really stand out.

Heard this was the spot for pizza(among any others). We had passed Sorbillo a few nights with huge crowd waiting for their names to be called on the loud speaker. Decided to get take away for lunch and this was perfecto! Easily could have sat inside, so I suggest going right when they open for lunch as to avoid waiting/crowds. Only comparison I have is between this place and Dal Presidente. Equally delicious, different sauce and different dough… Yum! By the way the pizza was on the more expensive side of 4.80, what a steal!!!

Fantastic pizza for less than 10 Euro You must swim through a throng of Itallian teens to put your name on the list. 15 minutes later you find yourself in a dark room confronted with an Italian language test. Dont worry all of the pizzas are giant and delicious. Fresh topings, house recipe sauce, and multi cheese toppings crown these giant dough disks. Come hungry and eat well. These pizzas are fit for the king of NYC(Bill de Blasio), so says the newspaper on the wall.

On a bien mis 20 minutes à comprendre comment procéder. Delicioso!

Rating: 86⁄100 pts Sorbillo is a slightly polished up version of the more in-your-face experiences you’ll get from most other Naples pizzerias. You walk inside, where a hostess politely takes down your name, and then wait outside to be called. Despite its slightly more welcoming atmosphere, their pizzas still average at a mere 6 euro, and the orthodox Margherita and Marinara varieties are still under 3.50. I went right at prime dinner time(9pm – you should go earlier), and consequently had to wait quite a while for a table. I was by myself, and was eventually seated at a table meant for two. A few moments later, in a respectable attempt to eliminate any wasted space, another guy was seated at my table. His English was even worse than my Italian, which meant we were in for an awkward 30 minutes of fumbling through start/stop«conversation» as I frantically rummaged through my Italian phrasebook, somehow managing to generate some communication through a mixture of broken Spanish, high school Latin, and caveman gestures. But once the pizza came, all awkwardness subsided, as we sank out teeth into our pies and together enjoyed what we had come for. By American standards, the pizza is nothing short of phenomenal – however, I did find the cheese slightly better, crust less tiresome, and experience altogether more«Neapolitan» at some of the other pizzerias I went to. Regardless, Sorbillo is considered one of the greatest pizzerias in Naples, so definitely come in and give it a try for yourself.

Ate here the first night in Napoli with 5 other girls(recommended by our hostel), and I was in pizza heaven! For roughly 4 – 5 euros a person, we all got our own personal pizza(and ended up sharing slices of different kinds; margherita, marinara, tuna, their signature pizza(forgot what it was called, but ask!), sausage) and it was SO worth it. They have a lot of other selections but it’s so hard to choose. There was a small crowd outside but we got seated immediately(apparently locals in Napoli eat dinner around 9pm; we came at 8pm and it was just right) and was able to order right away. The pizzas here are HUGE. I recommend you not eating lunch beforehand because I couldn’t even finish my half of the pizza. The sauce, cheese, bread, everything about it was SO yummy… I miss Napoli pizza already. It’s right off a touristy/busy street and is probably easy to miss. Around 9 – 9:30pm this place gets CROWDED so I recommend coming early!

One day, I will be on my death bed and I will be asked what is my one last wish. Without a doubt I would respond a regular Margherita pizza from here. My god, it was heaven. We got there earlier in the evening, around 6pm, on a Thursday in June. We had about a ten minute wait and we were called to be seated upstairs right by the window. The seating is cramped, but intimate, and you’re good as long as you have elbow room for cutting your pizza. I’m lucky to be traveling with all native-Italians, my family and their friends, so I always ask them what do they recommend. Simply put the response was a Margherita pizza. We order beer(Nastro Azzurro), water, and Coke. I’ve learned that Italians enjoy mixing their beer with Coke. I’m not too found of mixing it with Moretti and Peroni, but mixing Coke with Nastro was a good choice ad excellent pair for that indescribable pizza. After we ordered we were excited each time we would hear the ring of the pizza sized elevator. When finally it rang for us, our waiter brought the pizzas over(the elevator made 2 trips) and then it was just pure heaven. Pretty sure I can sum it up by saying it was a near-death experience, because I saw Heaven, and it was covered in a perfect mixture of sauce and cheese and herbs. The pizza filled me up even tip the next day where I could barely fit a plate of pasta in. For the four of us, with four pizzas and beer the bill came out to a little over 30 euros. That’s it! Hands down the best pizza, I miss it. And Napoli too.

Sehr leckere Pizza.
