Excellent service, excellent food, excellent price. Everything in this place is amazing: the ambience and the flavor. There is no English menu and that’s not a problem at all: the very kind waiter IS the menu and explains everything that there is on the board. We chose excellent and different kinds of pasta and we loved it. After the meal, it’s like a fast food: you clean your own mess and I think it’s very cool. We also commanded a tiramisu and it was simply amazing.
That’s why I recommend this lovely place.

Gutes Essen und sehr nette Leute. Es ist vom Prinzip her ein wenig wie die Restaurantkette Vapiano (Also ohne Bedienung). Wir haben für zwei Personen 22 Euro gezahlt, da wir nur Wasser getrunken haben. So überragend wie in anderen Kommentaren gelesen fanden wir das Essen dann aber doch nicht. Eher gute Hausmannskost, lag aber vielleicht auch an der Auswahl der Gerichte.

War schon ganz gut, aber dass ich hinterher Tränen in den Augen hatte vor Überwältigung, kann ich nicht sagen. Es ist gut und gemütlich. Man wird hier nett behandelt und super ist natürlich das kostenlose Wasser, was im heißen Sommer von Vorteil ist!

Okay so I have to admit the ambience is nice. The food however was a total 360. I mean what happened to the flavor, has anyone here ever heard of salt? Somebody recommended this place and said the food was delicious but clearly that was a lie. To be fair I sampled my friends plates just to see if my dish was the exception, but alas it was all bland. The service was great though. The hawt guy on the counter was nice enough to translate the Italian menu on the chalkboard in English. My overall assessment: good for groups (cheap booze), bad for tastebuds.

So lecker. Aus frischen Zutaten gemachtes Essen, viel für Vegetarier und sogar auch etwas Veganes. Wasser gibt es gratis dazu. Allein das ist einen Besuch in Pisa wert.

Das Restaurant ist auf jeden Fall ein Muss wenn man in Pisa ist. Auf jeden Fall die Liebhaber von Cavallo sollten hier essen. Wie von den Vorbewertern schon erwähnt muss man sich, nein darf man sich den Tisch selbst decken. Das ist außergewöhnlich, hat aber was.
Das Essen und die Location ist toll und wird auf jeden unsere Adresse in Pisa sein, sollten wir wieder dort hin kommen.

Das erste mal in meinem leben das ich Freudentränen in den Augen hatte nach dem essen. ich glaube ich habe auch ein fùr die anderen Gäste verwirrendes Geräusch der Freude gemacht!!! lecker ist untertrieben.

Sehr lecker, nettes Konzept. Wasser (mit oder ohne Kohlensäure) kostenlos, soviel man möchte. Der Hauswein ist sehr zu empfehlen und wird auch in großen Flaschen verkauft. Es gibt noch einen zweiten Raum im hinteren Teil, wo es sehr gemütlich ist. Ist sehr gut besucht, also früh kommen (Mittags ab 12 Uhr).

Eine Esserfahrung der Extraklasse! Hier isst man anders.
Das Restaurant, No. 11, befindet sich im Viertel San Martino, direkt an der Haupteinkaufsstrasse, Corso Italia, und dem Arno. Hier kann man Montags bis Freitags des ganzen Tag essen, was sehr selten ist in Pisa, und Samstags gibt es hier Abendessen. Sonntags hat das Restaurant geschlossen.
Rustikal und authentisch eingerichtet, wundert man sich vielleicht, wenn man rein kommt. Keine Kellner und eine Theke. Ja, hier bestellt man und bedient sich selber. Kein SB-​Restaurant der Kantinenart, sondern eine tolle Idee.
1. Man betrachtet die Karte, die sich täglich ändert. Ein paar Stammgerichte bleiben erhalten.
2. Man bestellt. Wein bekommt man gleich, Salat kann man sich auch zusammenstellen lassen und dann deckt man sich den eigenen Tisch. Wasser gibt es kostenlos.
3. Wenn das bestellte Gericht fertig ist, holt man es an der Theke ab.
Das Essen ist super! Man kann sich nicht beschweren über die Größe der Portionen. Qualität: die beste! Und das Brot schmeckt hier doch besser als in den meisten anderen Restaurants.
Der Hauswein kostet 4 Euro für die Karaffe und auch die anderen Preise sind sehr günstig. Im Durchschnitt kann man mit 8 – 10 Euro rechnen pro Gericht.
Einfach nur empfehlenswert. Und nicht scheu sein, die Mitarbeiter sind freundlich und helfen jedem Neuling.
Achtung: Reservierungen gibt es nicht und am Abend wird es schnell voll!

This place is simply amazing.
It’s a restaurant with a twist — it’s 100% self service.
But this isn’t some shabby cafeteria type deal, Numero Undici (Number Eleven in English) is oozing with style.
There are wooden beams on the high ceiling, the walls are rough exposed stone and there are chinese style lanterns hanging over dark wood tables.
Here’s how it works — You walk in and order from the hand written chalk board menu. Then you get everything else yourself — cutlery, napkins, glasses — and set your own table.
When your food is ready, they call you and you go pick it up.
When you’re done, you clean off the table yourself.
The great thing about the lack of waiters is that they obviously save a lot of money. Which means LOW prices. How low? How about EUR4 for a carafe of wine? Or EUR10 for a huge plate of grilled lamb?
It’s all excellent quality as well. Everything is delicious.
Other dishes on the menu include swordfish, gulasch, grilled pork, beef and pasta.
But the main attraction here is the meat. If you’re longing for a big plate of succulent grilled meat in Pisa, this is your place.
It also very popular with locals — always a good sign.
As they don’t take reservations, I would advise coming here fairly early as it can get very busy, very quickly.
And since it’s off the beaten tourist trail, I would definitely class this as one of Pisa’s hidden gems.
