Our last night in Positano and this was the place to send us off. There is no menu but be prepared to be filled with authentic home made food. Family owned, mamma is in the kitchen cooking and her son Vincenzo was our host. When you call to make reservation they provide a shuttle that will pick you up and take you back. Wonderful entertainment too and they get you involved. Be prepared to stay a while our reservation was at 7:45 and we got back around 11pm but we probably were picked up around 8:10 traffic. Very reasonable for all that we ate around $ 40 euros per person we went on June 28, 2016. Price could change depending on their menu. It was a wonderful experience and a great time. Food was awesome!

Tucked away up on the mountain in Positano is this great little jewel. We went here on our first night as it was about 200 m from our b&b and we were SO glad that we did. First off the view is incredible. You are really at the very tippy top of the trail of gods so you can see everything down the coast. The staff were absolutely hospitable and very attentive. The food was excellent, bread and olive oil, pastas, amazing dessert and very reasonably priced wine. The only downside is that if you are not staying in Nocelle, it is quite a hike up to the top or you need to take the bus allllll the way up and as it runs on the hour you need to time right. Take the trek, its worth it.

Beautiful view and fun atmosphere. Food is okay. Mostly tourists but worth the experience.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. It is a *must* in Positano. Mama’s homestyle cooking with the only choice you have all evening is «red or white wine» and«still or sparkling water». From there, it’s Mama’s menu. Make sure you go hungry because it’s literally a 5 course meal. Best meal I’ve had in Italy and probably best dining experiencing I’ve ever had in my life. The views from the restaurant are an extra added bonus– stunning. Also, only 35 Euros per person — very reasonable. So… go make reservations, be very hungry and be prepared for the dining experience of your life.

The food was amazing and the views were incredible. The staff was very friendly and patient with our big group(6 people) and took time to explain various dishes and make recommendations based on our questions and answers. We got the house wine and shared five gives different dishes. They were all extremely delicious but my personal favorites were the steak and pumpkin cheese risotto. Both were executed to perfections as the steak was a perfect medium rare and the risotto was extremely flavorful and delicious. Would highly recommend this place.

Incredible place! The view overlooking Positano was breathtaking. No menus. The staff just brings a wide assortment of unbelievable foods family style. The owner and wait staff exude their passion and love of their food and restaurant. A bit off the beaten path but so worth the effort!

Amazing food and inexpensive. Mama decides the Manu daily. The vegetables are fresh from their garden. You get a 5 course meal, antipasti, pasta, meats, desserts… We also got 2 bottles of wine(white and red) for the table. The food was unbelievable and it just kept on coming. I was pretty full after the pasta course. Everything was amazing and the atmosphere was so festive. There was a wedding party the night that we went and live music. Mama came out at the end, sang and danced with the guests. It was 40euros pp, a great deal considering how much food and wine we got. Highly memorial experience!

I am about to turn 47. There are two restaurants in the world that have given me the most pleasure. This is the second. I can’t even begin to share with you the feelings of hospitality, warmth and love the employees have for their customers. We entered after a lengthy hike up from Sponda, not in our best apparel. We had read many reviews but weren’t certain if they would be open on Friday for lunch in May. Luckily, I saw an open door and wandered down a few set of stairs to be welcomed with a BUONGIORNO! Let the happiness begin. Our host informed us of the way the menu would be and we informed him we were Pescetarians. No problem, they served us a Vegetarian lunch, followed by pasta course and dessert, then Limoncello and Apple Liquer and Espresso’s. The price was shockingly low compared to what we got down below in Positano. I will look back fondly on this day along with the 5 meals I have had at Osteria Alle Testiere in Venezia and smile. Grazie mille!!!

This was the best food I’ve ever had, in my life. The staff was incredibly friendly and they explained to us how it worked when we arrived. Very genuine people. Great environment too. You have the perfect view from the top of the mountain in Positano. They first served us antipasti… which included several dishes of delicious Italian local meats and cheeses and fresh vegetables. The pastas were all incredible. Every single one. And the meat, forget it. It was the most tender meat I’ve ever had. I tried rabbit for the first time and didn’t even realize because it tasted so good! I forgot to mention, you get unlimited wine too The desserts were fabulous. The tiramisu was excellent– best I’ve ever had. For $ 40 per person you can’t go wrong. The best part was at the end, their Mama came out to say thank you to everyone! Yes, the restaurant is family run and all the cousins and aunts and uncles are all in the basement cooking for their guests upstairs. Very Italian. Very delicious. I highly recommend this place if you’re visiting the Amalfi coast.

Was honestly the best meal of my life. This is more of a home than a restaurant. All of the staff are related to each other, and all food is made on the premises. You can see«mamma» in the back making your meal, which consist of over 5 courses of appetizers, vegetables and meat grown and raised in the garden, handmade pasta, and desert. At the end of the meal, our server even drove us back to our hotel. This was by far the best dining experience I’ve ever had.

My favorite restaurant in the world. If you want a REAL Italian dining experience, go here. From the moment I sat down, the service was wonderful! My hotel apparently called in advance to let them know I was gluten intolerant. They placed a beer in front of me and just as I turned to say«no,» they assured me, «this beer, you can!» It is a no menu dining experience. And that’s half the fun! After plates and plates of appetizers, we each received two large plates of pasta. THEN a large plate of all sorts of meat. Then many desserts. We dined for hours the Italian way simply because we needed time to digest between courses ha. It was so delish! I’ve sent many people here and everyone comes back raving about their experiences. Make sure you go on an empty stomach(oh and the view is INSANE!)

«Amazing» doesn’t even begin to explain this place. My best friend got married in Positano and the reception was here and it was epic. EPIC. Like it was so good that half of us came back the following day and did it all over again. Eating here is an experience. You want an authentic, family style meal in Italy? Come here. It was fabulous. From the chick peas to the pasta to the freakin’ T BONESTEAK everything we ate was delicious and fresh. The staff was adorable and accommodating. If you have the time for a two to three hour legit Italian meal, you have to come here. They even have a shuttle that will pick you up and bring you back. Just do it.

This place is going to be enjoyed if you are looking for an upper scale buffet. It is 35 euro per person for very average food, but there is a lot of it! You will not leave hungry. You also get two bottles of the house wines so there is no complaint with the cost from me, but I left feeling like there should have been much better food with all the hype I had heard from different sources. The view is beautiful and they have a car that can pick you up and bring you to their establishment. Finally, if you want to order your own dishes or are a picky eater, choose somewhere else, because all courses are set.

This was my favorite experience in our trip to Italy. We had dinner here two nights ago, and I just can’t say enough about it. We had a 7:30 reservation but arrived pretty early… which I’m so happy about. The view is incredible, but you don’t get the full effect after the Sun sets. If you are a picky eater, Make sure you know what you’re getting yourself into. This is a 4 course meal with wine, where no menu is involved– the chefs cook what is fresh that day, and everyone has the same things. We had: –5 plates of appetizers(for 2 people!!) — mixed beans, ricotta and Parma ham wrapped around fresh mozzarella(amazing), vegetable salad, etc. –A platter of a variety of pastas –A platter of a variety of meats –Dessert platter(3 things), with a glass of limoncello and melon liquor –2 bottles of house red I’d highly recommend this place if you can get to it… and make sure you make a reservation. You’ll be full into the next day :)

Our meal at La Tagliata was an amazing experience. We were greeted like old friends, brought course upon course of delicious Italian food, drank very well and enjoyed some great music(which by the end of the meal had everyone dancing!). We ate: 5 plates of antipasti — there was some beans cooked with pancetta and the best mozerella I’ve ever eaten wrapped in Palma ham. Pasta — 4 different kinds but my favourite was the pumpkin ravioli. It was amazing. Meat — Italian sausage, beef, veal, rabbit, chicken and pork! Served with French fries and salad. Pudding — fruit and 3 kinds of cake(no idea what any of them were, but they were delicious). To drink — 2 bottles of red wine, mineral water and limoncello to finish the meal. We spent about 3.5 hours there and came away VERY full. All for € 35 a head. Astonishing! I will say it took a long time to get the bill(seems to everywhere in Italy though?). And we were fortunate that we had a 30 min walk back to Nochelle but the queue of people waiting for the bus looked like they would be there for a while! The views are spectacular but so is the food. I can’t recommend this place enough.

The views were incredible, I’ll give them that. And I loved the house white when it was cold. The food and service left much to be desired. Didn’t help that a wedding party of 40 showed up a half hour after we did so it became excessively noisy and the service slowed to a crawl. Nothing like drinking warm white wine. We had to be quite and listen through the bridal party speech for 25 min. Wish they would have had a private space to do that in. Worst part is they let people smoke on the walk way which hangs in the air while people are trying to eat. So disturbing.

So I would like to give this place another outstanding review. It just doesn’t get much better than this. I have traveled to various parts of the world and it is hard to imagine a prettier location to have dinner. And the meal matches the view. Plate after plate of wonderful home cooked food. You can taste the love in each bite. And the family; it’s hard to not feel like family by the time you leave. The youngest boy was obviously in training and placed bottles of water and wine on the tables as people arrive. I’m not one to say things like cutest thing ever but he was pretty cute going around and checking on people to see how their meal was thus far. Can’t say enough nice things. Just make a reservation and head up there for a meal. We drove from Maiori and I didn’t think the mountain road was that bad so don’t get freaked out by some of the other posts. Happy Eating

Fantastic view, probably one of the best views in the area. Sadly, I can not say the same about the service and/or meal experience. We were introduced to the restaurant by a private tour company, perhaps this is why our food was«pre-arranged», no menu to chose from, no idea of cost. Note that they will tell you that they do not take credit card only AFTER they give you the bill. Also be aware that if you say that a credit card is all you have, surprise, surprise! They will take it!!! I found a couple of body hair in my antipasti plate and to end the meal, there was lipstick on my limoncello glass from what I can only assume was a previous guest. In my opinion, this place is a typical«tourist trap» setting. I’d say, save the trip and go straight to the village were there are tons of great restaurants and the ocean will be a few steps from your toes! Enjoy your trip to the beautiful Amalfi Coast!

Believe the Unilocal hype Settling alone is five stars Hare Krishna staff I doubt the waiters were really Hare Krishnas, but most of them sure looked the part. Similar clothing and lack of hair. Whatever, I was there for the food and the scenery. The drive up to La Tagliata is somewhat treacherous. Narrow winding road with heavy traffic up the side of a mountain. So worth taking the trip. For my Twin Cities Unilocal friends, La Tagliata is kind of like Buca. The portions are large and meant to be shared to with your group. Unlike Buca, there is no menu. They just bring you whatever they happen to be making that day. The food and wine both start coming out almost the moment you arrive. All of it was delicious, but the Gnocchi and Mama’s Pasta(cheese ravioli like you have never experienced) were the standouts. I don’t think I have ever been to another restaurant with as pleasant of a setting as La Tagliata. Can’t recommend highly enough!
