This hotel deserves zero stars. First, they overbooked so that they had to send us to a «comparable» sister hotel, the Best Western. The BW is barely comparable and is just an excuse for Crowne to lock in your rate, then make money by floating you to a shitty hotel at a lower rate, citing that there’s nothing they can do. Second, Crowne promised that in exchange for sending us to said shittier hotel, they would provide transportation from the BW back to the Crowne(because that’s where the train stop is that goes into Venice). Keep in mind that one front desk agent will make the promise, then another desk agent will«forget» about the pickups at the time they’re supposed to happen. We waited almost half an hour for the shuttle to pick us up and take us to the BW last night, even though we were promised the shuttle driver would be there at the agreed upon time. So the front desk people are either liars, or completely incompetent. At least they’re nice about it, right? Nope! They’ve been treating us as if we’re riffraff off the street and they’re doing us the FAVOR of shuttling us back and forth to the shittier(sorry, «comparable») hotel. We had reservations! Keep in mind that this has not only happened to us but at least two other groups of people. If they were so overbooked, couldn’t they have arranged it with us ahead of time so we wouldn’t waste all this time trying to check in at Crowne, getting bewildered, getting shuttled over to Best Western, waiting to check in there, then finally shown to our terrible carpet stained room? Shouldn’t a respectable company also refund the difference in rates between the two rooms in the two different hotels and refund any add-ons we bought for the first hotel(breakfast at Crowne) but don’t want at the second hotel(continental at BW)? Yeah, they should, but so far everyone has been incredibly rude and unhelpful. When asked where the manager was, the desk agent said, «she’s not available right now, she’s asleep.» Of course.

My husband and I were in Venice 4 days before our cruise and decided to stay 2 days after our cruise. The first hotel we stayed at was on the Venice island(which was amazing). Since our flight was leaving at 740am from Venice airport, we decided to stay closer instead of having to leave much earlier to catch the Alilaguna. We booked the Crowne Plaza Venice East because they offer free shuttle service to the airport if you book it with your room, if you don’t it’s pretty expensive. We got to the airport around 8am and called the hotel to schedule the shuttle to pick us up. The receptionist told us to wait outside by the lost luggage and that the shuttle would be there in an hour and a half! After the given time passed, we called because none of the shuttles that were at the airport have labels on the outside. When we called her again, the receptionist told us to wait inside the airport by the lost and found, in a totally different place than she previously told us. She then said that it would be another 45 minutes because the shuttle already came and left. We were irate but she didn’t care. My husband is a platinum member with IHG and we normally get amazing service at hotels. Not this one. Also, the hotel has nothing around it. You can get a train to Venice island but it will cost you about € 30 round trip — which is crazy. Thankfully we came early and stayed on the island so we got to see everything. This hotel is a waste of money and space!

Gayle and I arrived at the Venice Airport on a Friday afternoon and we would soon meet up with Erin and Jim(Sister and Hubby) at a village suburban Crowne Plaza Venice East. We would all be going to the Venice Cruise Terminal the next morning to begin a Norwegian Jade journey to Croatia, Greece, and Turkey. We had previously decided to stay in Venice proper when we returned and do our small slice of tourist exploration then and there. For 134 Euros per Room, we got a nice room, breakfast, and free transportation from the Airport to the Hotel and then from the Hotel to the Cruise Terminal. It was also a great place to just hang out, relax, and adjust our bodies to the 9 hour time difference. And compared to Venice Hotel prices(and the associated water logistics), this was a heck of a deal.

Sehr schönes Hotel für einen Venedig Urlaub. Bahnhof gegenüber vom Hotel. Zimmer sehr sauber. Wir kommen wieder.
