I made a special trip to Monti in order to dine at this restaurant which locals and visitors raved about. When I saw the photos of the hanging ivy on Unilocal,I knew it was a must-see in person. I wasn’t wrong. The view was peaceful and gorgeous, and I stared at it for a full 30 minutes while pacing the street waiting for the T-Shirt sign to switch from CLOSED to OPEN. On Unilocal,it says the restaurant opens at 12:30, but it was closer to 1:00. Still, the anticipation and the charm only made it more enticing. I didn’t even look at the menu. The waiters and bartenders and owners all made suggestions, and I let them choose for me. I had a smooth, white wine with the special of the day: cannoli with spinach. It was creamy and cheesy and delicious on the inside with perfectly al dente handmade noodles on the outside. I cleaned my plate which is more of an American Achilles heel than an Italian one. I finished my wine and ordered an espresso with my dessert instead of opting for the digestivo. I had the most decadent chocolate and ricotta pie topped with chocolate sauce and whipped cream and sprinkled with confectioner’s sugar. It was to die for. I also stayed at a fantastic Air B&B on the same street which made it easy to access the food and the hip neighborhood of Monti where the cool people flock. I sat at the fountain and read my book and tried to absorb every sight and interaction.

I really enjoyed this place! It’s a bit loud, a bit busy, and a lot of fun. When we arrived we got the last open table. After that, there was a line for service. The waitstaff was fun and helpful. The food was good and they had a great choice of wines. We would definitely come back here if we ever get to Rome again.

Gross. I’ve been eating gnocchi for over 15 years and was so disappointed in whatever the hell they gave me. Tasted like it came from the freezer. Everything else we got was mediocre at best and obviously not fresh.

Decent place. Sitting with my head facing the wall. Very busy and loud with lots of locals which is a good sign, but because we were hungry and wanting drinks we decided to go for food. Not so good. The prices are good for what you get but at this moment, I am deciding whether or not the rose will be ok with my tummy. We got the lasagne and bore sausages with bread and the Le Volte wine. After my Sangiovese glass of crap, the Le Volte was wonders for my palate. But after stomaching the reheated(not very well I might add) lasagne and crappy first glass of wine, I had to hand my second glass to the hubby. If you know me, that is not something I do. If you are desperate, this place is ok but if you can, find something else.

We found this place on Unilocal.Such a cute place. Nice people but the food was horrible. I hate posting negative things but I don’t want anyone else to do what we did today and expect to come and s a delicious dinner and literally not even enjoy the water. Just keep walking. This place is just not worth the calories.

A perfect cozy hangout with good food and friendly staff. We stopped in more than once on our trip and had a pleasant experience each time. Great wifi also! I recommend letting the bartender help you choose wine to pair with your meal. My favorite dish was their chocolate salami(dessert). No meat involved, it’s like a log of brownie batter that’s been rolled in cookie bits, chilled then sliced. Served with whipped cream.

Quick Version: Super friendly staff(spoke english), amazing food, better wine and very nice ambiance. Pretty cheap, too! This restaurant was incredible, our favorite while in Rome. We stumbled in at about 7:30 on a Thursday, and the restaurant was packed. We waited a half hour to sit, but we enjoyed a drink at the bar while we waited. The staff was super attentive and helped us decide on a drink. They let us try whatever wine and beer we wanted until we found something we liked. When we went to the table we ordered a bottle of wine and the meat and cheese board. You CANNOT go wrong with the cheese board it was delicious and fresh. We followed that up with a melted cheese dish(the name escapes me). That, too, was very good! We liked the wine they suggested so much we bought a bottle for the road. We’ll be back while we’re in Rome or next time for sure!

Yum! This place has a great vibe to it, a lot of locals during dinner time. There was a wait when I came here with my boyfriend. I think we ended up waiting 15 minutes for a table b/c we arrived during the dinner rush. For dinner, I ended up ordering the Eggplant Parmigiana and my boyfriend and I shared some cured meat as a snack(one of their bar food options). They did mistaken my order the first time around, they brought me lasagna instead, but the waiter was very good about it and had my order made for me in about 5 – 10 minutes. The eggplant parm was delicious — very cheesy, which is just the way I like it. For dessert, we had the chocolate fondue with fruit. You can never go wrong with fondue, it was absolutely delicious. Service is pretty on par even during the busy time. I would definitely recommend coming here, they have delicious food and great service!

A friend of mine who lives in rome recommend this location. The restaurant is tucked in small street away from the main road. The atmosphere is hip, a lot of working young adults come here. I highly recommend the Riviera with truffle honey for appetizer, and Lasaenga for an entrée. The porchetta di aricca was mediocre, it was quite dry and really high in sodium.

Everything was good nothing blew me away. Place was 50⁄50 Italians to tourists, we heard Italian German French and English spoken. Servers were very nice and accommodating to the wide variety of languages. We can the Siena sausages, Gorgonzola walnut honey, lasagna ragu and porchetta. Siena sausages were decent by themselves but went really well with the Gorgonzola and honey oddly enough. The lasagna ragu was really good, nice ground beef hidden under the lasagna layers. Porchetta was cooked it an herb blend with a lot of rosemary. Very good but very salty. This place is solid but they use microwaves to heat all their food. The waitress was super nice and drew us a map on our placemat to get to her favorite gelato place after.

I wish I could give half stars, because this would get 4.5. Really great service, delicious food(I had the ricotta/honey/truffle/arugula appetizer(very special dish, unlike anything I’ve had before) and the polpette suga, along with a glass of rosso di moltepulciano. Everything was tasty. Feels like a neighborhood spot, in spite of lots of different languages suggesting that there are tourists there as well.

Our first waitress was amazing. Think she left then others were supposed to take over — they were nice but not nearly as attentive. We took our time and didn’t feel rushed at all but did notice the difference in svc during the second half of our stay. Nice, warm atmosphere — lots of ppl coming and going, mixed crowd(locals and tourists alike), hipster-like décor, faint but upbeat music in the background. Reasonable prices. Lasagna was good(but not going to claim it was the best I ever had). I recommend it.

I found this place super cute. The atmosphere was vivacious and super packed with people. We got lucky to get seated. The décor is very bohemian-like. Rustic even. The menu wasn’t extensive but just enough to make one happy. The waitress was super kind and helpful. The gnocchi and lasagna were superb. Fresh. Both dishes were quite enjoyable and good. The wine was also quite pleasant. I definitely would like to re-visit and explore the rest of the neighborhood.

I really, really liked this place. The restaurant is comfortable, they’re friendly and the food is great. We arrived right when they opened and had our choice of tables. It didn’t stay empty for long because soon after every table filled up during lunch. It wasn’t visitors but a good variety of families, people on their lunch break and those who must be local and/or regulars. They had an extensive wine list with specials listed on the back wall. The gnocchi and the lasagna were delicious. It was one of our best meals in Rome.

This restaurant was VERY hard to find. In fact, I spent 45 minutes wandering around the city at night just trying to locate it. GPS was completely off on the location, it had me several blocks down the street and around the corner. Also, it didn’t help that the sign to the restaurant is partially covered by weeds and ivy, making it even worse to see at night. Nevertheless when I finally found it, I was very happy. This place was slammed when I arrived on a Tuesday night. I grabbed a seat at the bar and was completely confused as to how the reservation system worked. I sat there for a while until someone came over to me and asked if I needed a table, I said I did and she told me it was about a 20+ minute wait then left. I saw her a few minutes later and asked if I was supposed to tell her my name and she apologized for the confusion and ended up sitting me immediately. I sat at a table for 4(in many European places, you don’t really eat at the bar) and the service was amazing. I felt like I was in my own neighborhood spot. I started with a glass(or two) of prosecco in anticipation of what would be the best meal I consumed in Rome. Grateful to see an English menu, I ordered the ricotta w. truffle honey and arugula for my starter which was so delicious, especially with the warm bread. I actually almost filled myself up on this because the portions were huge with three big pieces of ricotta. For my entrée I ordered the Gâteau di patate con Speck e Brie, which was a potato pie with ham and cheese. It was so delicious and I loved every bite. I was dismayed to see that it was prepared offsite in advance and them simply warmed up in the microwave, as they don’t have an actual kitchen in this restaurant. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed my visit here.

What can I say? This is my go-to bar in Rome. The bar staff are a delight, the wine by the glass and by the bottle is excellent, they even have gluten-free craft beers for my celiac friend, and the marvels that they produce in that tiny kitchen have to be seen to be believed. Nonetheless, they’re best at cold-cuts and cheese boards, pack a mean porchetta, and the buffala mozzarella will leave you licking your lips. Perch at the bar if tables aren’t available — you can still eat and it’s actually more fun. Open virtually all year round and a great spot for some wifi business and a glass of wine in the afternoons.

This was a great little place to visit. We were told that this was a good place to come and eat or just to hang out. When we arrived(around 7, it was packed) we were told we could wait at the bar for a table, so we ordered some house wine. Their servers were very friendly and made suggestions on what to order when we weren’t sure what to get. They provided some little cheese and meat snacks while you waited. We had the lasagna which was awesome, and a few other items which were less memorable, some type of meat dish(which I am not a huge fan of meat so I don’t remember exactly what it was). We enjoyed the atmosphere. It was clearly a local hangout spot but one where locals were welcomed. Would definitely recommend this place!

Great food. Great décor. Great vibes. The guys working there were able to handle all the mayhem on a Saturday night. The female bartender was great as well. They take orders in many languages, serve drinks and food all with great attitude and just a great joy to be there. My girlfriend and I sat at the bar and ate and drank for a few hours. Met many people, great conversations with bartenders and we got a drink on the house for the fun banter. It felt so authentic. All ages all smiles and one of or favorite meals in Italy. Thanks!

Awesome place, a must checkout in my opinion in Rome if you are in the area! Small, has its own vibe! We got the oven dried chili pork, dried sausage, lasagna, gnocchi and local Syrah Podere 29 and all items were really good! Please visit this gem if you get a chance. Service is great too! My girlfriend picked this place based on previous reviews and it was the right choice!!!

With great food at great prices, you will leave satisfied and happy. The service is good. Come early and beat the dinner crowd! We got there before 730pm and snagged the last table before the bar area filled quickly. Tons of people stood around outside to drink so it looked like we wouldn’t get seated, but looks can be deceiving! I highly recommend the carpaccio of the day(ours was beef). The gnocchi, caprese salad, lasagna, boar sausage, mare salad, chicken and artichoke salad were all good solid dishes. I could eat here everyday!

Super restaurant !
