Dinner here was great. We started with the 4-piece bruschetta, I had the lasagne and my wife had the spaghetti with seafood. Dessert was tiramisu, one traditional and one special that was made with Nutella. All were very, very good. The service was excellent, with good pace from the very friendly staff. Would definitely go back again(and again). A little bonus was the shot of lemoncello at the end of the meal. Grazie!

Amazing food we ran right into the little Place, which is actually quite spacious once inside. We looked at some Unilocal reviews previously and decided to give it a try. The service was great and the bread was actually optional(which normally you are charged for a cover, which includes the price of bread even if you don’t eat it) so it was nice having the option. We true the prawn risotto which was INSANE, and shared the Veal Saltimbocca which was also delicious, but had a strong flavor of wine. Delish but very strong. Topped off the dinner with an on the house shot of limoncello! Would 100% recommend. For water, bread, both entrees, and a salad we spent about 36 euros, and had an AMAZING meal.

Great place near Termini station. We enjoyed clams, pasta & pizza while waiting for our train. Oh, and a great local draft beer, and the bread was very tasty, and and we joked with the waiter who also spoke Mandarin, and we tried their desserts of the day. Hey, why don’t all places have desserts of the day? They had either chocolate or strawberry mousse-parfait-‘tiramisu’ type desserts, and the chocolate was sublime. Who cares about leftovers soup when you can have a special dessert? The noodles and pizza were obviously homemade. I think I finally understand that the goal is to have the tomato sauce very tangy to bring a strong flavor to the noodles or pizza. Thin crust and freshly twisted pasta, of course, have just the right balance of salt oil and spices. Americans just do it wrong with huge cake thick stale tasteless crusts and years old dried soulless noodles hopelessly overcooked. This place reminded me of my first«real» Italian meal in the North End of Boston decades ago. And naturally, they gave me a shot of their local sweet liquor to finish lunch. Ah, almost 5 stars, but the food is not quite there for my picky palette. :)

I had steak with potato and vegetable soup. Both were delicious but the steak was bit salty(still delicious though). The waiter was very friendly and helpful. I paid the bill with credit card at current exchange rate atthe bank which is much higher than what u get at exchange shop for cash. lol

The waiter was extremely helpful and friendly! The food was good but my favorite was the dessert. I was by myself and I asked the waiter if I could get half of a tiramisu and he did! For half the price! I got the spaghetti with clams for dinner and after dinner the waiter brought me a shot of limoncello! The waiter brought me another shot complimentary as well! The restaurant is very small and cozy and the wait staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall good with reasonable prices and I would go again.

I’ve been looking for a really good restaurant in Rome and finally found one. There is a long queue of people waiting to be seated but the staff made sure we were happy by giving each customer a glass of prosseco wine while we waited. My husband and I didn’t have to wait long till we were seated. They give you fresh bread for the table unlike other restaurants that have stale bread. The food was tasty and the pasta with clams I had was fresh and delicious. At the end of the meal, they give you some alcoholic drink with vodka in a little shotglass. Eating here can be a bit pricey but the quality of food and service was excellent.

One of my last meals in Italy(until next time)! We found this place on Trip Advisor as well and it looked like a good spot to try. We made reservations, but it was not necessary when we went since it was still a little early for dinner. Their restaurant is fairly easy to find. It is a lower level restaurant — very cute décor. We had a FULL meal. We started off with: * Salmon me marinato con arancio e menta(marinated salmon with orange and mint) — It was really interesting. I’ve never had salmon like that with that combination of flavor. I didn’t like it very much in particular but I’m glad I tried something new. * Mozzarella di bufala dop(buffalo mozzarella) — I was told I had to get this at some point on my trip. It’s literally a fist size piece of buffalo mozzarella. I love my cheese but am not a huge fan of this type of mozzarella so I did not fully enjoy it like I would other cheeses. * Prosciutto di Parma(Parma ham) — Very popular appetizer at restaurants and it really helped balance the cheese and all the flavors we’ve already had. As for entrees… I was basically already full. We ordered pasta and pizza dishes. After a week and a half of traveling and eating in Italy, we have been spoiled with amazing meals. Their dishes were just a delightful — flavorful and filling. After eating an entire meal, we had to indulge in their dessert. Yes… we all got something, as if we can fit any more in our body. We got the crème brule, tiramisu, and ice cream! They were all very good. My uncle is a dessert chef so I have had amazing dessert before, this was pretty on point To end the night, they gave us each a free shot of lemoncello! Amazing service. Thank you, Italy!

It is appropriate in Rome that you either eat outside, or in a catacomb-like basement. Well, the Alessio is the latter, in an unglamorous part of the city near the Termini. Despite the passing tourist traffic, this does get local patrons as well — always a good sign. The pasta dishes are superb, and the steak-on-a-sizzling-platter very good. Good pane, decent wine selection, and a range of desserts that look made in-house(but avoided this time for lack of capacity). This is the perfect way to end a holiday in Rome: meal at the Alessio, then two blocks’ walk to the Termini to catch the train to Fiumicino; this avoiding any airport or airplane food altogether.

Was staying in the neighborhood and decided to come here for dinner. There was about a 20 minute wait and we got seated outside. Service was very friendly but was a bit slow. Ordered the following: Bruschetta — very very good. Much better than the place we had before. Grilled Sea Bass — wife ordered this and loved it. Said it was amongst the best fish she’s had. Pasta Cacio E Pepe — had heard this was a Rome staple so finally tried it. Really really liked it a lot. Decent size portion and the pasta was very fresh. I think we ended up spending around $ 38 euro so it wasn’t bad at all. Definitely a pretty good place to go. We would definitely return.

Today is my daughter and I’s first day in Rome, and we wanted to have some good Italian food. This restaurant was just a few minutes from our hotel we were staying at, and the reviews were pretty good, so we decided to try it out. When we first arrived, the restaurant was pretty crowded, and one table was ahead of us. After waiting around for 15 minutes, we were lead to our seat and given our menus. Service was quite slow after that. The food around us looked really yummy, and we were eager to order. However, the waiter decided to set tables for nonexistent customers rather than take our order, and we were left waiting for maybe 20 minutes or more. The waiter was very apologetic after that, and our drinks soon arrived, so that helped the mood to improve. After half an hour, our food arrived. It was definitely worth the wait. I ordered a risotto with truffle and porcini mushrooms. They were Delicious. The truffle(a favorite ingredient of mine) stood out, and it wasn’t so soft that it was mush, but it wasn’t so dense that it was chewy. It had just the right texture for the dish. My daughter ordered a filet steak with green pepper sauce. As I’m a vegetarian, I couldn’t have it myself, but from my daughter, it tasted great and was cooked really well. All in all, food is good. Service could use some improvement. I would come back next time when we are in Rome.

This was my worst meal in all of Italy — and I was there for 2 weeks. My steak was overly salty and over cooked — when I brought this to the server’s attention they did NOTHING to make up for it. Don’t believe the hype of this place — the food in general was mediocre. Pizza, gnocci, and some other items we had were not good. My family would agree that this was also a disappointing meal.

Yum! We stopped here on our first night in Italy. Exhausted and jet lagged, we were in some serious need of some good eats. Alessio did not disappoint! What a great spot-the atmosphere was buzzing at 10pm with exuberant patrons, the wine was flowing, and the waitstaff ran around the small room attending to the full tables. The lasagna was delicious, as was the steak my other half ordered. We enjoyed the local wine and ate and drank until we couldn’t take another bite. The waitstaff was very friendly and accommodating throughout the meal. I enjoyed the atmosphere as well as the food, and would absolutely visit again. Excellent! Five stars.

I was traveling solo and wanted to stay close to my hotel for dinner. Alessio popped up under«nearby restaurants» several times, so I finally walked over to check it out. You go down steps to enter the restaurant, and you pop out at the host stand. It was early for dinner(6 p.m.), so I figured I may have a chance to get seated. Upon arrival, the host asked if I had a reservation. I said no, and he brought me to a table. There were several available two-tops, but he placed me directly next to an English-speaking couple. Safe to say I felt like the third wheel on their date. We didn’t talk until the very end of the meal(when we discussed the fact that the staff was probably talking about us!), so it was pretty awkward all around. Servers seemed a bit annoyed by my existence as a solo diner in their white-tablecloth restaurant. I heard them share information about specials with another table, and they even gave complimentary limoncello to other guests. I didn’t receive either courtesy. They eventually brought me bread, but I knew I wouldn’t eat a whole basket by myself, so I said I wasn’t interested. For my meal, I ordered the pasta with tomato sauce and bacon. I had the same style years ago on a visit to the country, so I was super excited to try it again. Unfortunately, this dish just fell short. It didn’t have any bold flavors or seasoning and you could hardly taste the bacon. I ate as much as I could. I coupled my dish with a white wine, and it was a nice pour. Alessio is a beautiful space, and I’m sure if I arrived with friends it would’ve been a different experience entirely. I just felt like I was in the way by being there alone, so I grabbed my check as soon as I could.

Ravioli with spinach and ricotta was very fresh. Penne Arrabiata loved the sauce, it was a bit spicy with red flakes, but perfectly spiced! Bruschetta with tomato was okay, they burnt our toast it was hard to eat it. And had burnt flavor. Complimentary Bread was okay, so we asked for olive oil and balsamic and it was much better! Crime brûlée– vanilla flavor!- was pretty good, it tastes like French vanilla ice cream! Good customer service, small place, hot in the back and finally in the end of our visit they turned on the fan and it was much cooler. They also gave us free shots of lemoncello which was nice of them. (late post — from July 2015)

Our best meal in Italy. Delicious fresh mozzarella with prosciutto di parma, an incredibly flavorful margherita pizza, a fried calamari so tasty it didn’t come with sauce(but we ordered it anyway, just in case). Service, wine, and atmosphere were all excellent. Highly recommend.

Great service and amazing food! I had a bruschetta, ricotta and spinach ravioli and the sea bass. The ravioli was the best I have had in Rome and the sea bass was fried and had a delicious olive oil and parsley sauce on it. I would definitely recommend this place!

3.5 stars. While an affordable meal with items that sound appealing on the menu, everything just missed the mark a little tonight. Service: 5⁄5. While busy, these guys are so nice to tourists, the primary audience of this establishment after its acclaim on Unilocal and Trip Advisor. Food: — Fried blossom– 1⁄5 no blossom? Just a cheese battered in a breading that was greasy and not flavorful. Don’t burn calories on this. Not worth it. — Strozzapeti«Alessio» pasta– 3.5÷5 a fun shaped pasta with a mushroom sauce, tomato, and a garnish of parsley. Quite tasty, and pasta shape has a nice mouth feel(how weird does that sound??). They roll their pasta too thick for my liking though. It’s thick fo real. Like«apple bottom jeans, boots with the fur» thick. Tomatoes were sweet and tasty. — Calamarata pasta– 3.5÷5 cod, breadcrumbs, and a tomato cream sauce, I believe. Pasta is thick rings and sauce is really heavy and rich. Recommend you share this with someone. — Saltimbocca– 3⁄5 I don’t eat veal, but my buddy ordered this and said that while the taste was good, it was too one note. It’s kind of unappetizing looking. — Tiramisu– 4⁄5 good but not great. It almost had a subtle floral taste on the finish which confuses the hell out of me. No wifi Credit cards accepted Nothing was particularly bad. Just nothing stood out to me as excellent or worth paying a repeat visit.

Our very first meal in Rome and we fell in love. Walking distance from our hotel, we decided to give this place a try. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted and told we could sit wherever we wanted. Our server was kind, friendly, attentive and helpful. He taught us something new, like how fried calamari really isn’t ordered as an appetizer here. It’s served as a main dish or a dish for kids. He was sweet to offer this dish to us as an appetizer if we really wanted. I passed, when in Rome! I appreciate that they provided a complimentary bread basket, not every restaurant in Rome does this. We started with a Fried Zucchini Flower, perfectly battered and stuffed with cheesy goodness. For our main dishes we ordered the Lasagna and Frutti di Mare. After our first bite, we had to pinch ourselves. It was out of this world! They are generous with the portions, yet our dishes were light enough to finish. Every ingredient on the plate is fresh and cooked to perfection. The pasta is perfectly al dente. There is just enough sauce to coat the pasta and to dip your bread into the sauce on your plate. The sauce is light, clean, and not overly salty. Just the right amount of salt, so that the flavors of the other ingredients shine. I liked the wet nap that came with the Frutti di Mare, it was a nice way to freshen up. Ended the meal with their Strawberry Tiramisu. Excellent. Light, not too sweet, creamy, smooth, with a lovely fresh natural strawberry flavor. I believe it was the owner or manager who brought us over our check and he was so sweet to ensure we enjoyed our meal. We visited on a weekday at around 6:30 pm. There was plenty of seating available and the ambiance was quiet and laid back. As we were finishing our meal, I noticed that the restaurant started to get much busier. Restrooms(toilette) are in the back and clean. If you want to turn on the faucet you have to push the button on the floor with your foot: D A wonderful experience filled with good times, great service, and a meal that will stay in my memory for years to come. Oh yea, and they give you complimentary limoncello at the end of your meal.

Our favorite restaurant in Rome. It is set down a flight of stairs from the street level. If we lived in Rome nearby, this would be a once every week to once every two weeks stop.(we cook a lot at home). Atmosphere: quiet, mostly tables. Friendly patrons. You could have an intimate conversation with your table or politely talk across tables to other guests. We came here twice during our 5 days in Rome. The first time, I was hesitant not knowing what to expect, then I settled in for a good time. The second time, like coming back to old friends. I walked in with a smile. Staff: The staff is just perfect. Recommended some wine. Answered our questions about different plates. Food: Since we had been walking about 5 – 6 miles a day for the past two weeks in Italy, I consumed a bit of pasta. I’m more partial to a tomato base pasta than a cream or pesto. Their’s here were excellent. The bruschetta was pretty good. The wine perfect. Tiramisu for dessert. Price: reasonable for Rome. It didn’t break the wallet. Go back: when in Rome, yes.

My husband and I came to this restaurant for dinner around 7:30pm on a Saturday. Luckily we didn’t have to wait for a table! From the reviews that we read, people had warned that they had a long wait and a reservation would be best. The waiters and bus boys were very nice and spoke English well. We ordered the Charcuterie(meat and cheese plate), Minestrone soup, and fried zucchini(courgette flowers) as appetizers. For our pasta dishes, we ordered the bucatini with bacon & tomato sauce and the handmade pasta with claims. I was so full from all the appetizers that I wasn’t able to eat too much of my bucatini, which I was kind of bummed about because I knew I couldn’t pack the leftovers to go. There were just a few things that I was not impressed with– 1) Two pretty girls had come in after us. First, the waiters and the hostess couldn’t stop staring at them. We were seated first, but once we were seated, we had been forgotten. But the two girls seemed to be attended to quite fervently. We had to waive to the waiter to let them know we were never given menus. 2) they charged us for bread that we did not eat at the table. It would have been nice if they asked us if we wanted a bread basket or not, and not just place it on our table. I’m not sure if this is a custom in Italy to automatically charge for the bread basket, but I don’t think it’s right.
