Love this place ! We stayed in the neighborhood while we were in Rome and this became our morning stop. The coffee was wonderful, the pastries very fresh and the food was very tasty. The service was some of the best I have ever had. I think there prices are just a suggestion because we never seemed to be charged enough and when we questioned them about it they always replied«it is good«.

We went into this place hoping to have a good breakfast to start our day. The person at the counter was incredibly rude. It almost felt like he was doing us a favor to take our order. The service was terrible and they charge a high price when you sit down. Among all the places we went in Rome, this is the worse place and left us an awful memory during our trip to Rome.

Settimiano, usually called Setti’s, is one of the most convenient cafes for John Cabot University students. Flash them your JCUID card or stroll in there with a backpack while speaking loud English to get a little discount. Bar Settimiano is very popular amongst tourists and native Romans as well. They serve coffee(damned if they didn’t!), all sorts of sandwiches, alcoholic drinks, baked desserts, and novelty candy. Right next door they have a tea room with a cute inside area of their merchandise. Like everywhere else, you pay a little extra to have your meal or drink sitting down. Prices are moderate. On the very left of the bar they have a little display of buffet-like plates where you can pick and choose different carbs, vegetables, and meats to construct your own entrée, which is my favorite thing about Setti’s. Food quality is not very consistent. I’ve had great toasted panini and horribly boring piadine(flour Italian tortilla sandwiches) on different occasions. Once I found pieces of plastic in my tramezzino(triangular cut white bread sandwiches). Desserts are good but pricey. Service varies. The people at the bar are very gentile; one man speaks English well and understands customer service, which many Italians don’t! I come here from time to time between my classes or to chat with friends. Pros: +variety of food +service +convenience(bfast, lunch, early dinner) Cons: –a few prices –consistency

Busy busy. I guess that means its pretty good. Great place for a coffee break. They have great pastries and sandwiches. Although this joint is busy the people behind the bar are all about making sure everyone is well served at least thats how i felt.

Located on a pretty square, this pleasant bar gets a lot of traffic from the nearby university. I can’t speak for the food, as we just had drinks. The prices were reasonable and the wine was tasty… and it was heaven to sit outside on a lovely evening and watch the world go by.

Settimiano is a popular hangout place for John Cabot University students and professors. Day or night you’re pretty much guaranteed to see at least one person you know inside. Not much else to say besides that the prices are low, and the servers are friendly. If you’re stopping in for breakfast I highly recommend the jelly-filled croissants. They are the bomb.
