The meat is not worth ordering. Delicious tomato tartar type dish served with meatballs(as an appetizer). The rigatoni was well cooked and al dente.

Coming to Rome, we were expecting to eat a different kind of fresh pasta each and every day! This place most definitely had the«wow» factor. Tagliolini with fried artichokes, guanciale, and pecorino. The first bite was unreal. This is why I came to Italy!!! Each bite thereafter, was just as good as the first. Actually, it just got better and better and I was honestly tempted to order another bowl. The guanciale was not overly salty, which made this pasta the most balanced yet. Al dente, perfection! I highly recommend this dish!!!

After a long day of traveling, my travel companion and I ended up in Rome, checked into our AirBnB, and proceeded to seek out sustenance in Campo de’Fiori. For its tourist-centric location, Grappolo d’Oro seemed promising: not too obnoxious, locals having a good time, not too empty and not too crowded, and friendly servers. We grabbed a seat on the patio and quickly received a basket of bread(2 Euros) and menus. On a bit of a whim(and due to our hunger), we went for a pasta dish, rigatoni alla matriciana, and an appetizer, polpette di ricotta e melanzane con salsa di pomodoro e basilica(or as I like to call them, eggplant meatballs). For my first legit Italian experience, I was blown away. The rigatoni was large handmade tube-shaped pasta, thick and truly al dente and not drowning in the rich, thick tomato sauce. Pecorino cheese crumbs were sprinkled over the top and gradually melted over time. And the bacon! Thick, fatty, juicy. The entire combination of starch from pasta, saltiness from the cheese, slight acid from the tomato sauce, and umami from the bacon made for a simple yet rich, delicious dish. This pasta was certainly a far cry from Olive Garden. The eggplant meatballs were another new, delicious experience for me, made with tomatoes, ricotta cheese, and basil. This would be a great dish for vegetable lovers. Because of the overwhelming humidity, we went with a carafe the chilled white house wine. Not the most appropriate pairing for the food, but it certainly paired well with the 90 degree heat. A little too late, we realized they have daily specials(the chalkboard is inside, but we just plopped down outside). Be sure to check those out if you stop by! Bottom line: Grappolo d’Oro is a highly recommended experience overall.

Great unique place to eat in Rome. This place is located just off the beaten path in campo do fiori. We ate at Armando al Pantheon the day before and when we couldn’t get a reservation back there for dinner, they recommend this place. Food is upscale and a bit more foodie then most of the Roman restaurants we ate in. Service was very good and the meal was delicious. Definitely a good choice for lunch or dinner.

The highly recommended restaurant across the street Ditirambo had a 30 minute wait inside and indefinite outside. We opted to go across the street and are glad we did. They have basic outside seating and the restaurant is very nice inside. Started with a shaved fennel salad w sun dried tomatoes, olives peppers with good focaccia on the side. Excellent. We had the pappardelle w pesto and tomatoes and the linguini w fava, peas and asparagus. Both wee prepared. Great selection of reasonably priced wines.

This place is great. Ultimate people watching, young owner serving you, a really amazing daily degustation menu and good wine. It’s in the centre of tourist area but there’s no need to be nervous. All the pasta looks mouth wateringly good. I had the carbonara and it was amazing. Big chunks of delicious bacon and bright yellow eggy pasta noodles. The ricotta dessert was also light, lemony and delicious especially as I don’t love sweets. Yes you’ll pay for water but you’re in Italy deal with it. They also own the place across the road. This is also a great feed. Do the daily menu. Thank me later.

Bright inviting interior design inside, and excellent food that is a bit more unusual than other restaurants in this touristy area. Appetizers in particular were quite interesting and well presented. We felt right at home with the atmosphere and thoughtful menu — not dissimilar from farm-to-table type places in the Bay Area.

Excellent spaghetti carbonara. Other plates were delicious as well. Atmosphere was pleasant and service was good. Just around the corner from the Campo di Fiori square.
