Very good jazz music but some terrible service. Waited 40 minutes for the food and payed for two drinks we never got. Very dissapointing.

Wow! Incredible jazz experience in an intimate atmosphere. Favorite thing we did in Rome! And it’s a whiskey bar too!

Entertainment done right. Difficult to find with typical tourist maps, but so glad we found this gem. We soaked in the swing/1920s or 30s music. Talented musicians! Our ears were very happy. Thank you for a great night.

We could not be more happy that we found this amazing bar! After having multiple horrible experiences in Rome with bad service and rude waiters, we were so relieved to find a place where we immediately greeted with a smile and friendliness. Everything here is on point. The drinks are made to perfection, the music is wonderful, and the staff are some of the best we’ve met, period. We went there one night, and the owner himself, Gregory, made us some incredible drinks, and provided us with great conversation. He mentioned there’d be an even bigger jazz concert the next night, and we liked the bar so much, we decided to come back! When we came back the next night, it turned out you had needed to make a reservation in order to see the band perform. When Gregory saw that we had showed up and were disappointed about not being able to see the show, he managed to get us seats right up front to see the band! Who, by the way, were amazing! My husband and I had an incredible time and we are so happy we found Gregory’s. We’d highly recommend going here while in Rome! Our only regret is not trying a dinner there, because we’re sure anything that came out of that kitchen would have been delicious.

My wife and I came to this place while visiting Rome for our Anniversary. After making our reservation online we arrived at Gregory’s and were pleasantly greeted by a host. The venue is very small, which we expected so no issues there. What we didn’t expect, however, was to be seated on two bar stools at the very back of the room near the toilets. I actually couldn’t even see where the band would be playing from where I was sitting. As if the seating wasn’t bad enough, my wife noticed that the hostess took three other drink orders from customers who had arrived after us… she never even bothered to come back to take our orders. Given the awful seating and service we decided to leave before the band started their first set. Afterwards, we visited a nearby pizza shop, lingered at the Piazza Navona and had an all-around awesome night. As for Gregory’s…based on our experience, can’t say that I’d recommend this place to others.

A great place. It’s a bar and a small restaurant at the same time located on two different stairs with bands plying every night around 10(at least when I was there). Service was nice and the vibe was great. Not an expensive place and located in a great area of Rome. If you like jazz, you will enjoy greatly !

Great food — friendly servers — good wines by the glass. Music is good but not the best attribute – One of the highlights of Rome

Great find. Started with dinner — order the melanzane parmigiana — its one of the Chef’s special dishes. it was fantastic! The bartender, Guiseppe, pours a generous glass of wine. Service by the lovely Giselle –and upstairs the music was excellent. I’ll visit again before I leave Roma, and will recommend that my friends visit next time they’re in town!

The ultimate gem! Some of my loveliest memories of Rome are in the upstairs room of Gregory’s. The musicians who show up to play for their Tuesday jam sessions are absolutely out of this world!

Wow!!! I love this place! I wish that they had something like this in San Diego! You do have to reserve a table in advanced though unless you get there early where you can get an extra seat. There is a 15 Euro first drink policy though, so make sure to get something good! Since the vibe was right, I had an Old Fashioned. The band had SO much energy and played for hours. I also had a pizza that was awesome too, much better than the pizza I had in town at a little shop, only 10 Euros too. If I ever go back to Rome, I will def stop by again.

Wow, what a find! The cobblestoned streets were quiet, but we were out roaming Rome, looking for something fun to do. Thank you Unilocal and the Italian Unilocalers who reviewed this place, it turned out to be just a couple streets over from our hotel(Baglioni). We crept up Via Gregoriana — which looked deserted right up until we were practically on top of the place. A tiny door revealed a jam-packed dining room — literally barely an inch to move. We would have loved to eat there, but no dice. We wandered upstairs and were shown to couch-like chairs, and wine orders taken. What followed was a high-energy jazz performance complete with hooting and hollering and yelling in Italian. Didn’t understand a word, but it was impossible not to get taken away by the tide of enthusiasm in the room. The head of the band was so excited we thought he might blow a gasket. It was great. Coming here was a highlight of our trip. The way it was packed in the dining room, the food must have been delicious. We will be back to Roma. And we will be back here. ~~~~ If you want to read my whole story on visiting Rome — you can find it here:
