Great spot for wine, snacks and people watching! the service was prompt and very attentive!

The service is on par for Italy. Not the fastest but very friendly. The ambiance is great and from the pictures in the restaurant, it looks like a place many famous people dine.

Decent food and expensive prices, but that’s to be expected at such a «historic» place. Came in for lunch by myself on a rainy afternoon. When I received my bill, one of the two servers who had waited on me mentioned I –if I so desired– could leave a tip(only in cash). Mind you I’ve traveled everywhere, and I know in Europe tips usually follow a meal of outstanding service and quality. While my meal was great, the service was certainly not worthy of adding to my already overpriced lunch. As a matter of fact, I had to ask twice for my check before it arrived. When I took back my Amex after the bill had been paid(the check holder had been taken back shortly after) the first gentleman who took initially took my order returned to my table, informed me that I had forgotten to leave something for the other server and proceeded to hand me back my check. The table next to me was just as shocked as I, yet I still left around 10 euros to avoid any more awkwardness. What if I hadn’t any cash? That last encounter really left a bad taste in my mouth over something so petty and downright fractional in comparison to my potential return to Harry’s, which is now quite uncertain. It’s doubtful that they even care about this review considering they have some clout with their name; tourists looking to be like the glamorous celebrities so prominently displayed throughout the years. Honestly though, why is it necessary to have both a TV reel and prints on the exterior glass showing pictures of the celebrities that have spent time at Harry’s? Isn’t being even slightly understated part of the Italian restaurant charm? It’s a bit tacky and not as subtle for the type of crowd I’m looking to be around anyways.

My husband and I had just finished walking through the park nearby. We saw Harry’s on the corner as we were heading back to our hotel. We decided to sit, have a glass of wine and just relax a bit. We were seated outside(not under the canopy). We ordered wine and appetizers. My husband ordered the Caprese Salad and I ordered the Salted Beef and Mozzarella. We had just received our wine, which by the way came with a nice variety of small munchies, when we noticed that the sky was definitely darkening above us. The rain was threatening to soak us through. The staff was at Harry’s were so wonderful while they rushed to quickly move us and those in the tables around us quickly to cover. They even allowed a young family with a carriage to duck under the canopy to keep from getting soaked even though they were not paying customers. When our appetizers came we were surprised by the portion size. They were much larger than we’d anticipated! They were quite tasty too. The prices at Harry’s are steep by comparison to our time in Abruzzo’s Marche region; however, keeping it mind it is Rome, the price increase was more or less expected.

My friend and I happened to just get lost and stop here for lunch. It was the best service that we had hands down in Rome and was an amazing experience! If a place can taunt it’s celebrity visits like Harry’s, there’s a reason for those visits. Fast and extremely professional service! I used to work in fine dining and they did everything perfect and you could tell they took pride in their hospitality. The food was excellent as well. We both got the Lobster Pasta which came out incredibly quickly! Later I had one of the best Martinis I’ve ever had. Hands down. And it’s my usual. Harry’s has the capability to make the usual exceptional. HIGHLY recommend it, and I’ll be visiting again on my next trip to Rome.

3x more expensive than it should be. Stopped in for a quick espresso on a trip and didn’t even look at the menu until after we had ordered. 6 € per espresso is a bit steep. Worst value ratio anywhere I’ve seen!

Food was good, but it was definitely not worth the 150 euro I paid for lunch. 3 dishes at 30 – 40 euro each, a couple of sodas at 11 euro each plus the water and bread, and we were at 150+. I like the vibes and service was great, but the food did not merit those prices. Best to come for a cocktail and the vibes and call it a day!

I’d been to Harry’s Bar once before on a ‘company hosted’ dinner, in 2005. At that time, it was okay, nothing special, and thank God, I never had to see the bill! We visited Harry’s Bar last week on a very hot summer day. It was mid afternoon, which could have been topped off with a fine chardonnay or Pinot Grigio to make the day perfect, HOWEVER, made the WRONG choice choosing ‘Harry’s Bar.’ The bar has an iconic history and has been visited by many famous faces over the years, which sounded in enticing, right up until we walked in the door. We were polite and nice when we asked to be seated, but rather than being greeted, the waitress just flung her hair in my face and sighed, the without words, showed us a table to sit at, and one without an umbrella over it. About 20 minutes later, she showed back up and asked for our order. It was about 3:30pm or so, hence, lunch is over and dinner is typically after 8pm in Italy, so we ordered a wine and a beer. Sounds simple, right? Especially with the severe LACK of other patrons present. Well, about 30 minutes later, I received a glass of Pinot Grigio that was not even close to chilled, and separately, a couple minutes later, my husband received his semi-cold Italian beer. The waitress appeared once again with a bowl of stale potato chips, set [slammed them] on the table and said nothing, then left. Again, we wondered, are we somehow annoying her by our presence? Should we be serving her? Does she just hate her job so much she stays for her own personal self-torture? Though the wine was so-so, we decided on a second beverage. In order to get the second beverage, my husband had to go into the main restaurant and hunt her down. She was outside somewhere having a cigarette. No problem, some people like a little tobacco break, so that was fine. Hubby told the bar tender instead, and about 20 minutes later, after her smoke-break, she returned with our wine and beer, saying NOTHING to us, not even in Italian! As if this were not bad enough, the bill, which we had to go inside and ask to have. 50EUROS!!! For what? 2 beers, 2 wines, a waitress from hell along with being seated at the worst possible table? That was ridiculous! In order to pay the bill, since no one showed up to take the check, we went inside and paid. No ‘thank you’ no ‘ciao!’ nothing… nothing! If you are in Rome, or planning to go to Rome… Do NOT, again do NOT even consider wasting your time and money at this place. There are MANY, MANYFINE options for wine bars, cafes and such who will APPRECIATE your business at a much better price, too. NEVERAGAIN, Harry’s Bar… NEVER! Not even if it were free. NEVER!

For me, this bar had the perfect location and hours. Since I was staying at the Marriott(right across the street) and Harry’s stayed open until 2 am — after most of the local cafes were closed. Expect to always see a crowd here. The prices aren’t cheap, but they are also not impossible. When you order a drink at a table, they provide an assortment of chips, olives and other things to snack on. It totally justifies the cost. If you sit inside there are also live performers since this is considered a piano bar. I also like that it has a traditional bar that you can sit at and chat with strangers if you’d like. There’s lots of history here since its been open forever and has had its share of famous people through the doors. It certainly tends to attract lots of tourists and a generally older crowd given its location, but there are locals as well. The first night that I visited I’m certain that I was sitting next to an Italian pop star or actress as she was equipped with large security guards.

Very expensive you better come ready to spend. My little steak cost € 38 and it didn’t have much flavor. Every plate is almost over € 20 and that’s also appetizer. On the upside it’s a very nice restaurants that has had MANY stars eaten here and I’m sure that’s why it’s so expensive. I’m sure you can find a better cheaper and flavorful steak in town.

We came over to Harry’s because the Café de Paris was still closed. Nothing against gold old Harry, it’s just that it’s not the place where you can grab an espresso by the bar. On the other hand, it’s a nice enough place for an aperitivo, with that old school, old money Via Veneto vibe. There’s really nothing special about the offering per se, you’re more after the experience, or just to check the box. Been there, done that. The live music makes the difference, with an actual piano on premise. I think it’s pointless to complain about the price, you should know what you’re going to shell out. Still, the aperitivo pales in comparison to the best Milanese standards, or the more creative local options(Doppiozero anyone?). For hard liquors you’re in better shape, and that’s probably the best use of your time and money.

We ate outside(sort of) when it was raining. Great food & service. They try to make you feel like you’re in a place where old movie stars go to & I felt it. Pricy but I would still go back.

Really nice place and loved the service! It was just two of us, but the staff caught my attention. They weren’t really friendly just serious, but they were on it making sure everyone out on the patio were taken care of.

Good food… bad service… Pricey. We tried this place twice and while the food was good and they had plenty of service staff around, we had to flag them down to get anything. Maybe they don’t like Americans. Or maybe we are spoiled by California service. We ate outside but I went inside and it was beautiful. Worth checking out

I ordered a ravioli dish which was delicious and had a unique taste. I’ve never had anything like it. It was a green sauce with roasted vegetables on top. I would definitely get it again. A lovely light meal, yet heavy enough to fill you up for dinner. Also is served with a variety of breads that were fresh. At the end they bring a little desert tray out that is quite tasty.

Stopped in for some after dinner drinks. We were seated at a nice small table next to the piano. Drinks are expensive, but you get what you pay for. The setting was beautiful. There was a piano player and a singer that performed great songs. If you are looking for a place to have cheap drinks just to get drunk, this is not the place for you. This was the best romantic bar we’ve seen in Rome. We will be going back several times during our week stay in Rome.

Pricey but excellent food and service. Located on via Veneto, one of the best places for people watching in Rome. If you get tired of that, you can look at the Porta Pinciana in the Aurelian Wall.

Can you say La Dolce Vita? Harry’s bar is another one these iconic venues where you truly have to appreciate an era of glamour and old Hollywood. If you are visiting Rome, this classic establishment lives up to all things on the Via Veneto. Famous for appearing in the 1960s movie«La Dolce Vita», the Good Life, this restaurant/bar has been frequented by celebrities and international crowds who seek a great night on the town. Photos of some of the stars who frequented Harry’s Bar can be found in a curio cabinet next to the restrooms. We enjoyed some fabulous Foie Gras and a few glasses of Champagne while listening to the duo sing«touristy» lounge songs, but it was entertaining. Dark cherry walls, leather chairs, piano, singer and the love of my life sitting next to me set the mood for a great night. Fabulous! This place will set you back, but the service, entertainment and the food is worth it. Try it at least once!
