We were just roaming around, so many restaurants to choose. And I’m glad we chose this one! From the staff, to the location and the food, everything was really good. The waiters are nice and funny, always in an italian way and service was quite fast. About the food, I had grilled calamari(13eur) and grilled vegetables(5eur) and was a very big portion of calamari! So tasty in such a Mediterranean way. I miss good fish a lot so I decided to try it. TRY tiramisu, one of the most typical desserts in Italy. All restaurants claim they make the best one and homemade, this was not exception but trust me: one of the best for me. Creamy and even a bit liquid(just the enough!) and super fresh. This lunch took more time than I expected, specially if you ask for coffee in the end, but for me, it’s how a meal with friends should be: sun, great food, an espreso in the end and a beautiful city surrounding you!

Food was good but service went from bad to worse and our waiter was flat out rude. Bumping it up to two stars because the pizzas were good and came out fast. When because it was slightly less expensive than the other places. The first pizza came out quickly, although it wasn’t what we ordered. They were outbid brocoli, rather than tell us, they decided to replace it with mushrooms, which we didn’t like, they also left out another ingredient, olives… so basically it was a different pizza that they don’t offer in the menu, it took us a while to get his attention to tell him that and when we did, he tried to argue that it was the right pizza. He finally took the pizza away and brought a menu to order another one than had us waiting for do long we decided to just pay for our water and leave. I went to the restroom first(which was very small but decently clean) and my mum stood up to grab my bag and the waiter thought she was leaving right then so he ran over to ask what pizza he could bring us. When I came out of the bathroom, I overheard him saying something about a table and the wrong pizza(couldn’t understand everything). I got to the table and there was another pizza there, with what was supposed to be but wasn’t salami… it was good though so we figured it wasn’t worth the trouble to say anything. The pizza came out fast but when we were trying to ask for the check, as was the table behind us, we couldn’t get his attention b/c he was trying to give another table the wi fi password and somehow the subject changed and he was giving a history lesson covering everything from Alex the great to the break up of Yugoslavia.20MINUTESLATER he finally turns around, walks towards our table, I’m waving at him and saying excuse me, and he stops at our table, turns his back towards us, and starts talking to some lady on the street, then he goes back to finish his history lesson… so he finishes, walks past us to the table behind, they ask for the check, walks past us again and finally payed attention to us calling him so we could get the check. He charged us for the first pizza which we were pretty sure was a euro more than the second one we ended up getting, and when we asked him he said it was the same price and to go check the menu, then started changing the names if the pizzas… we were tired and just wanted to go since we have to get up early to leave the country tomorrow so we just payed the extra euro so we could leave.

The tout made us laugh, so we figured the place has to work harder to get the customers, since it is just off the square. Food was reasonable and the service was very good. We were the only ones in the place, later afternoon. Good food, good service. We had the Diavola pizza and the pear, pistachio, cheese pasta.

This was some of the best food we had in Rome. We initially planned to go to the nearby La Carbonara, where we had gone before we got married, but with four chilren with us now, it was pricey. But we saw the entrée La Carbonara on the menu at Jamm Ja for about half the price, so we sat down there. It was excellent!!! We all agreed that we could have gone back every day. My four-year-old son ordered the calamari, complete with tentacles and everything, but he wasn’t phased at all. I closed my eyes and tried it, and it was delicious. The atmosphere was wonderful, as we ate outside on the little side street and had a partial view of the very active Campo di Fiori. Best of all, the waiter asked my husband if he was from Southern Italy. While he is not, his father is from there. When we asked the waiter how he knew, he put his face next to my husband’s, and said, «Look! We have the same nose!» Very memorable. If we ever return to Rome, we will definitely revisit.

I had a lunch break after visiting the Vatican and before going some other places so I wanted something quick & good, on my 1st full day in Rome. The waiter whooed me and complement me so I ate there. After he go me to the restaurant and took my order I got totally ignored! The food was decent when it arrived but, my whole party was not served in a timely manner. Then after the lack-luster service, the waiter was upset about his lack-luster tip; he should’ve gotten nothing the waiter who helped us should have gotten my tip. Despite the service the meal(formula) was a tasty and reasonable priced lunch. I was full! 1st time having carbonara, yum!
