Excellent find just off the Piazza di Rotunda. A colleague recommended this place so we tried this on a weeknight and were thoroughly impressed. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, very nice inside with frescoes and paintings beneath an old oak beamed ceiling. The staff is very welcoming and and attentive and the menu is fairly large. We started with prosciutto and bufala mozzarella. The prosciutto was well cured with just enough saltiness and the mozzarella was very fresh My companion had a Lombata di Vitello(veal steak) and I had a filet covered in an outstanding marinara with a bit of heat from chili. We spilt a portion of cicoria(chicory) sautéed with pine nuts, garlic and chili flakes and everything was excellent. For dessert, we had panna cotta(freshly made) with berries and a incredible ricotta torte. All in all an excellent experience and will definitely be returning.

Neat little place on a side road off the Pantheon. Excellent food and atmosphere. We ordered an appetizer and two first course meals and everything was excellent. The waiters were friendly and it seemed like there were a lot of locals eating there as well.

A great little place just on the side street to the left of the Pantheon. Service was a little week but the food was awesome. Large thin crust Pizzas are delicious. I loved the Spaghetti All’Amatriciana. We also enjoyed a wonderfully fresh and ripe Caprese Salad

Excellent place to eat. Friendly and great portions. I had more average food than great in Rome. This place is a must hit! It should be ranked way higher than it was on Unilocal

Came here for lunch and the food was exactly what we were looking for. Fairly priced for the area, we had the bruschetta, variety of pizza, pinot, and pineapple for dessert. While perhaps a bit forgetful, we had no real issues with the service which was polite and helpful the entire experience. Would definitely go back on the area, was not crowded and felt like a bit of a more Italian experience than other places in the area.

Came here three, the first time was with a group of 30 people. We had called in the day before to get a reservation and we were accommodated quite nicely! So if you are planning on coming with a fairly big group, don’t hesitate to call and reserve a spot. Well, what’s to say about this place. the interior is nice, there are two sides to the restaurant that you can be seated in. Overall, it’s not a huge place, but it’s able to fit in a lot of people. Yes, you may be squeezed by a few people, but it’s the Italian family style feel that makes you feel like you’re in someone’s home. The food is really delicious too. When you’re seated you’re served a flatbread or two to share with your table. It’s seasoned with a bit of salt, basil, and olive olive. Really simple, but delicious. I ordered the carbonara twice, yes it was that good! And the third time I came I ordered the arrabbiata penne. Oh my gosh. Now that that dish… amazing. I also tried some of the amatriciana. The noodles are like spaghetti, but a bit thicker. I was surprised at how delicious this dish was. The fried artichokes are also very delicious, but they can be quite oily. So, if you don’t mind that, then you’re set. Overall, I really really enjoyed this restaurant and I can’t wait to go back to Rome and eat here again!

Had lunch today at La Sagrestia. Service was excellent, the restaurant is clean and comfortable, and the food delicious. I especially enjoyed our pizza, which came on the crisp, cracker-like thin crust I prefer. Four Stars!

Great meal and wine and thankful it was a great last meal in Rome! We meet a fellow New Yorker who has lived here 20+ years at David Hamilton. Angelo told us to come here for dinner; his friend Massimo owned the place. Great food and wine! All locals-except us!!! We had insalata caprese, bruschetta pomodoro, pasta a diavolesca. House wine was great. If we are ever in Rome again, we will be back!

Recommended by our concierge but was disappointed both with the food and service. We ordered the seafood appetizer and it was under seasoned. My friend had the pasta with bacon which they forgot to bring until I was already done with our meal and didn’t apologize. They had 2 waiters and one which was running around hectic the whole time which made us nervous. Many people ordered the pizza so maybe that’s better.

La Sacrestia was a restaurant that a friend of mine recommended who goes there often for good food and locals do too, so you know it’s good. It’s located near the Pantheon. We arrived around 8pm on a Wednesday night, and we were lucky to be seated without reservations. We decide to try their Tourist Menu for 22 Euro each person to get a nice sampling of their food, which includes their house wine. Their house wine is very good! First is Bruscheta al Pomodoro — toasted bread with oil, fresh tomato and arugula. Then, a large serving of spaghetti with bacon tomato sauce and pecorino cheese. This was really good pasta! Then, Piccata al Limone — meat with butter and lemon. We were so full, we couldn’t finish the meat! Then, green salad, and caffe. The espresso was a perfect ending to the meal. The staff was pleasant. The service was competent; I wish it was more friendly and personal. We enjoyed a nice relaxing dinner, with no rush to leave. Because of the quality of the food, I highly recommend La Sacrestia and would come back.

The best«typical roman» restaurant we found. Wood fired oven with excellent, excellent pizza. A little pricey. In a fairly touristy area of Rome near the Pantheon but definitely going out of their way not to cater to the straight tourist crowd. No outdoor tables, no black board, nobody calling you in. We had some good antipasto as well including a salad that seems to be popular this time of year — bright green shoots that taste like romaine lettuce with a lemon, anchovy vinaigrette. They have a full menu on top of the pizza, all the tables around us had wonderful looking food.
