Melograno is our go to spot for gelato. Like really we loved it so much that we went out of our way to grab our treats from this gelataria. Our faves are Hazelnut, Pistachio and especially Tartufo. Located at the Trevi Fountain you must delight your taste buds with some gelato from Melograno while in Rome, Italy.

This place was recommended by our tour guide. The price was reasonable and the food taste okay. But the customer service was horrible. I found a hair on my second pizza and show it to them without making a scene. The girl was confused and didn’t understand until I point out the hair. She said something in Italian to her co worker and the second girl took the pizza to the back of the kitchen. Th first girl said it cannot be her hair and then she said it might be my hair. That’s when I was furious when she accused me for the hair. She dare to say no hair here when she point to all the pizza. I asked will I get a new slice and she was so reluctant to give. I told her«forget it» when she decide to replace the slice and took my stuff to leave. I am writing this as I am walking out of this place. Their customer service is horrible. They need to train those people to handle situation such as this and apologize instead of accusing people. I will give it a negative if I could.

Great pizza by the kilo. I had a tomato/black olive/zucchini slice and a mozzarella/black olive/tomato slice. Fast service and lots of indoor seating!

Close to the Trevi fountain. Has a large selection of pizza, but nothing to write home about. Please note we did NOT have the gelato — however it seems like every tour brings their group here so it’s like a circus.

They have a wide variety of gelato flavors. There wasn’t a line so I was able to get in and out quickly. It’s right near the Trevi fountain and easily accessible. The service was friendly and accommodating to my novice knowledge of Roman ways.

This is totally NOT a tourist trap. Huge pizza and ice-cream selections and very inexpensive. Great place for a quick break or lunch.

Great gelato! I loved the biscotti, crema and caramel flavors. I had the cone dipped and chocolate and peanuts. It was delish!

Not sure about their pizza or pastry selection, but I was able to get gelato that they verified to be gluten free on a gluten free cone! It was the first place I had been to with gluten free cones, so I’m giving them 4 stars for the alone. Also, the Nutella gelato was very good.

If you are looking at the Trevi Fountain, look to your left and you’ll see Melograno. We were with a walking tour so we didn’t want to stray away too far before having to meet up with everyone again. Our local guide pointed Melograno’s out to us as one of our options. Upon stepping inside, it wasn’t too crowded and they had so many different kinds of toppings on their pizzas! Different kinds of meats, and veggies! One pizza even had thinly sliced eggplant all over it. All local flavors, so you’re not going to find any Hawaiian pizzas with pineapple on them. They are not heavy handed on the pizza sauce here and mostly let the toppings do all the talking. The crust was a medium thickness. Side Note: they also sell gelato here which we tried and then we went next door to the Gelato place on the corner and liked theirs much better. We had Gelato 3 times that afternoon by the way at 3 different places LOL…

We stumbled upon this place on our first day in Rome. It’s hard to sort through all the gelato options but with my fine eye I decided Melograno looked liked it would be pretty solid. The gelato was good and surprisingly given all the other gelato I tried(and try it I did) this place ended up being my favorite gelato spot in Rome.

When you only have a few minutes to have lunch on your own before having to rejoin your tour group, you find the nearest eatery and get moving. This place is right next to the trevi fountain and gets a LOT of tourist traffic. The pizza was underwhelming but again we didn’t have much time to search. The gelato however,(like almost all Italian places we visited), was wonderful. The best was a combo of strawberry & banana. Other tastes included: melon and cherry. FOUR stars for the gelato. I’d skip the pizza if you have time to search for something else. It wasn’t bad, but nothing spectacular.

This is a tourist spot, located right next to the Trevi Fountain. With various options, we decided to stop here for a sweet treat. This is sure to please the sweet tooth with so many different flavors, and of course I chose chocolate and various chocolate flavors. For € 6, I must have gotten a double or triple scoop. Either way, it was good down to the last bite. On your way, grab a espresso or cappuccino to go for about € 2.5 at the bar and sip away all your worries. It’s a small price to pay, when we’re admiring the artwork smacked right in front of us. What is there not to like?

I did not try the Pizza but the Gelato was recommended to me by more than one Italian who said it was the best in Rome. It’s incredible. I wouldn’t eat Gelato any where else and just at the foot of the Trevi fountain. A must! Try the Chocolate and Lait. The coconut is insane! Delicious

Buona pizza con prezzi economici e un bel posto vicino della Fontana di Trevi! E per i turistici: i bagni puliti e gratuiti(molto molto importante quando si vede una fontana…). Surprisingly affordable slices smack dab and a coin toss across the Trevi Fountain. I bought a 2.50 € margherita slice that was wholly satisfying and delicious. Even better, they have free, clean restrooms upstairs. Grab a slice and save enough to toss into the fountain, so you can ensure your return to Rome and do it all again, thus fulfilling the infinite send-return loop that I’m sure Stephen Hawking wrote about in one of his crazy space books.
