Passed by this park and it was gorgeous. We were staying at the Villa Hotel Pamphili and you get a scenic drive through this park on your right hand side. Unfortunately I did not get to go inside but it looks gorgeous for a picnic and a stroll.

The largest landscaped public park in Rome, Villa Doria Pamphili poses as one of the best kept jewels scattered throughout the entire city of Rome. On a warm sunny day, you can often see many a mum strolling around with their youngsters. There are quite a few kids’ playgrounds, though kids really only need a grassy path, a ball and their own fervid imagination to recreate a Sherwood Forest or reenact Sandokan’s Indian adventures. The Villa is but a fraction of the beauty of such an amazing park but it is well worth the occasional visit. Along with saving a little time to dwell on the animals that have called this little corner of heaven. Maby a turtle, some fish, ducks and beautiful swans. On a lucky day, the occasional bird watcher may be able to oin point quite a variety of colorful and amazing birds. There are the occasional butterflies strolling around. So, grab a blanket, a nice book to read, maybe a few sandwiches and plenty to drink and… head on to this amazing place to lazily spend an afternoon you will most surely enjoy like few others
