We enjoyed a simple lunch at diVinorum sharing two of the seven types of bruschetta and a beautiful layered salad. Satisfying wine selections. Take in the wonderful country views to the south while you enjoy your lunch and wine. But be warned, even when we went on 30 Oct, the sun was very warm and we still had to sit inside.

Beautiful ambiance here, the enoteca is in a cavern-​like basement that’s gorgeously decorated. Many types of Tuscan wines here, the Chianti is not to be overlooked.

Fantastic place for lunch or a drink. They have a little row of tables looking over the most incredible view. Well worth it.

A great place for lunch just on the main square in the town. It has great bruschetta (a speciality one — ‘Lardo’ — comes highly recommended, it’s basically fat on bread but it tastes amazing). They also have a great selection of wines and some good platters for sharing at lunch. We went twice in a week and would have considered it for an evening meal but weirdly for a wine bar it seemed to shut at about 9pm??? I’m assuming it opens later in the summer months.

A wonderful litte wine bar set on the popular Piazza Cisterna, but also with a quieter entrance on the alley behind.
You always feel the risk in somewhere beautiful yet touristy like San Gimignano is that you will be ripped off — high prices for very standard food and drink.
Not here.
We approached from the quieter side to get lunch in the shady courtyard. This can be reached from Piazza Cisterna by going down through the wine bar.
The lunch choice was wonderful. I had a layered salad which combined all the usuals with layers of pear and local cheese. Exquisite. They also serve bruschetta, local meats and a choice of 20 local wines by the glass. A wonderful resting place.
